- JCJay CNov 1, 20253.0I visited this clinic with my father, and while the doctors here are truly excellent, the experience with the receptionist was extremely disappointing. From the moment we arrived, she was rude and dismissive toward patients. I know she speaks Spanish — she spoke to me in Spanish earlier — yet when another patient approached her needing help in Spanish, she suddenly acted as if she didn’t understand him. We overheard her say, “Wow, you can’t speak English?” and when he replied in Spanish that he didn’t understand, she gave him attitude instead of offering any support. She even handed him paperwork entirely in English and didn’t help him at all. The poor man looked lost and confused, and it was upsetting to watch someone struggle when the person at the front desk could have easily assisted him. As a first responder, this is especially unacceptable to me. We are supposed to help our community and treat people with dignity — not make them feel embarrassed or unwelcome. Seeing someone in a patient-facing role act this way is honestly disgusting and goes against everything community service should stand for. The wait time at this clinic can be long, but it’s worth it because the doctors are outstanding. It’s just incredibly unfortunate that the first person patients interact with is someone who treats them so poorly. This clinic would benefit from hiring front-desk staff who actually care about helping people and representing the clinic with respect.

How do I schedule an appointment?
To schedule an appointment at any of our Family Health Centers locations, please call 718-630-7942. When you call, be ready to provide the full name of the person you are making the appointment for, their date of birth, phone number, health insurance information, and the reason for your appointment request. You may receive a reminder phone call two days in advance of your appointment. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call 718-630-7942 as soon as possible to reschedule.
What should I bring to my appointment?
For your first appointment at any of our Family Health Centers, please bring copies of your medical records, if you have them. Always bring any medications you are currently taking, your insurance card, and any referral or precertification information. If you are a new patient, please plan to arrive 30 minutes in advance of your appointment to fill out necessary paperwork. All other patients are asked to arrive 15 minutes early.
Which insurance plans and forms of payment do you accept?
The Family Health Centers at NYU Langone accept Medicare, Medicaid, and other major insurance plans. We provide financial assistance through a sliding scale discount program for patients who cannot pay. Please bring proof of income and family size if you wish to apply for financial assistance. Co-pays and other charges may be paid with cash, personal check, money orders, or major credit cards. If you have a billing question, call 877-648-2964.
How can I access my medical information and test results?
You may use NYU Langone Health MyChart to view lab and test results, access medical records, request prescription refills, send a secure message to your doctor’s office, or pay a bill. MyChart can be accessed by computer or through the mobile app.
What should I do for after-hours medical advice?
If you have a non-urgent medical question outside of regular center hours, call 718-907-8100. Assistance is available in multiple languages.
