Pissed!!!😡
I will be writing to file a formal complaint regarding the treatment my 77-year-old mother received at your facility on October 1, 2025. My mother, who is a fall risk and requires the assistance of an aide, visited your location at approximately 11:20 a.m. via Access-A-Ride to provide a urine specimen.
After completing her specimen, my mother and her aide briefly stepped out to get coffee. When they returned, my mother attempted to re-enter the facility to safely wait indoors until her transportation arrived. To my shock, the technician on duty refused to allow her back inside, even though the facility was empty at the time. The technician then locked the door, despite knowing that my mother walks with a cane/walker, is a documented fall risk, and requires a personal assistant.
As a result, my elderly mother was forced to remain outside from shortly after 11:30 a.m. until 12:40 p.m., when her Access-A-Ride arrived. For more than an hour, she was left vulnerable and exposed — a completely unnecessary and deeply distressing situation.
This is not just INCONSIDERATE, it is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE and NEGLIGENT behavior from someone in the healthcare field. A professional working in patient care should NEVER disregard the safety and dignity of an elderly patient, particularly one with mobility challenges. To treat a 77-year-old woman in this manner is both cruel and HEARTLESS.
I am happy that I wasn't present, but to receive that phone call from her in that moment was EXTREMELY upsetting. Was this a RACE issue? The attitude of DISGUST she gave my mother and her aide had my mother in tears. She kept telling me her back was hurting and she needed to sit. How could one deny her that?
