My insurance covered the exam, lens, and frame. No copay. They young ladies were trying to tell me I had to pay a copay for the frames, polycarbonate, and I can’t remember the 3rd thing. After calling my insurance for reassurance the price came down to just polycarbonate. I was told it was a law and I had to sign a waiver if I didn’t want polycarbonate. I did some research the law is for optical places to provide polycarbonate glasses. The law strongly recommended that the parents get it. I don’t like that they are charging their patients more than required. I do agree with fees for add on like transitions or name-brands if people want it. But basic glasses for children no.
