Spent well over 6 hours in Er waiting to be seen. When actually in the Er all you heard where the nurses complaining and cursing how busy they are. If they stopped complaining they would push more patients through. So unprofessional of a place

I am extremely disappointed with the level of care and professionalism at this emergency room. The staff’s attitudes were disrespectful and completely unacceptable for a medical setting. One of our family members was in excruciating pain and actively vomiting, begging for help, while the staff stood around doing nothing. Instead of assisting him, they told us to “move and give people space,” even though we were the ones dealing with a true medical emergency. Meanwhile, patients who arrived after him were taken in first, leaving him to suffer without attention.
What made this experience even more disturbing was how they reacted when he began praying. He is a Christian man who believes deeply in prayer, and in the middle of his unbearable pain he started praying and asking God to help release what he was feeling. Instead of showing compassion, the staff gave him dirty looks and even called security—over a man who was simply praying through pain. That is a disgusting and unacceptable response from a healthcare facility that should show empathy, not judgment.

I spent 4 days in the hallway of the Emergency room. I was never able to recuperate because there was always drama and violence from a number of the patients there. The nurses(many of them were very professional … shout to Rosa☺️) were abused by some of the patients and not supported by security, although it was perfectly clear some of those patients needed to understand they are there to be treated for an ailment and if you act in a violent or disrespectful manner, you will be escorted out by security. The presence of security teams should felt so patients feel comfortable and secure, not just seeing them standing around doing nothing when something occurs. “Handle your Scandal” and do your job! I was so disgusted by the time of my discharge, I removed my own IV just to get out of there. Too much confusion there. Who wants to hear yelling and screaming about foolishness that could be handled in a civil manner. All of the nurses are there to help and that was very apparent. Something must change in the emergency rooms on Long Island, it is simply disgraceful.
