Been to this hospital 3 times since the beginning of the month. My OB sent me to see a surgeon for gallstones thinking that my gallbladder was inflamed so I was there 2 times for really bad severe pain on the left side of my sternum. I’m also 25 weeks pregnant. I was crying basically the whole time I couldn’t get comfy and just very frustrated. All they found were huge gallstones, gave me morphine (that worked for 20 mins) and sent me home still in so much pain with a bariatric surgeon phone number to follow up with.. and claiming “there’s not much you can do when you’re pregnant”. I was there for 12 hours…. Saw the bariatric surgeon a couple days later outpatient he takes one look at me, already knew what was going on and said he’s 99% sure I have a stomach ulcer…. And on top of it I need my gallbladder out after baby is born. How did the hospital not be able to figure that out going there 2 times? Then My husband recently had really bad pneumonia and a couple days ago I started coughing really bad to the point my chest hurt and I knew how bad he got because he was gasping for air so I wanted to get checked out. I was advised to go through the ER here because this is the hospital I’m delivering my baby at. Sat in a hallway for hours, PA wanted to do ct scan of lungs because my D dimer was high so they can check for a blood clot (I was fine with that) Then the actual doctor came back asking why did I ask for the ct scan…. Why would I volunteer myself to do a CT scan if I’m pregnant? I literally told the doctor that the PA said I should get one done (again I was fine with it). Then the dr turns around saying she wasn’t comfortable doing it and says “I think you have a cold you have to let it run its course” seriously? Also my white blood cell count was high so clearly something was brewing. I’m sitting in the hallway coughing sounding like a dog barking to the point where my chest was hurting and I can feel my pulse just going up. I already was telling the dr I’ve taken several otc medications (ones that’s were safe) and nothing was helping. like I’m telling you my husband that I live with (yes I took precautions to keep my distance) literally had pneumonia last week and I’m having the same symptoms he had before he got really bad! She gave me z pak that said “it probably won’t work” and sent me on my way home (my husband got a z pak at first it didn’t work so he ended up getting amoxicillin and he’s a lot better). Again I was upset because every time I go there’s some sort of mis communication between somebody and just felt not taken seriously. The nurse Bill (he was my nurse the first time I went for the stomach pain) saw me upset and tried his best to comfort me and he understood my feelings. He deserves a pay raise! He’s very compassionate. If I wasn’t pregnant and my amazing OBGYN wasn’t affiliated with south shore, I probably would of went somewhere else.

Spent well over 6 hours in Er waiting to be seen. When actually in the Er all you heard where the nurses complaining and cursing how busy they are. If they stopped complaining they would push more patients through. So unprofessional of a place

I am extremely disappointed with the level of care and professionalism at this emergency room. The staff’s attitudes were disrespectful and completely unacceptable for a medical setting. One of our family members was in excruciating pain and actively vomiting, begging for help, while the staff stood around doing nothing. Instead of assisting him, they told us to “move and give people space,” even though we were the ones dealing with a true medical emergency. Meanwhile, patients who arrived after him were taken in first, leaving him to suffer without attention.
What made this experience even more disturbing was how they reacted when he began praying. He is a Christian man who believes deeply in prayer, and in the middle of his unbearable pain he started praying and asking God to help release what he was feeling. Instead of showing compassion, the staff gave him dirty looks and even called security—over a man who was simply praying through pain. That is a disgusting and unacceptable response from a healthcare facility that should show empathy, not judgment.
