Would post zero stars if I could. My insurance company wrongfully denied my benefits for my Quest bill. Knowing it would take a lot of time and effort to fight the insurance company, I tried to negotiate directly with Quest for a reduction. They will not give any reductions at all to self-paying patients. Very firm and strict on this policy. My past billing with Quest shows they were giving over 90% adjustments to my insurance company, but they won't give me any reduction at all? It's very noble of Quest to stand up for those poor, starving insurance companies against us big, bad self-paying patients.

I came to only drop off a frozen sample to the lab. There were no appointments so I was willing to do standby to drop it off. No standby appointments were called up for nearly two hours. My loved one who needed the testing was at home very ill and I needed to get back to her. The staff kept dismissing me despite my polite but urgent plea for someone to just take the sample. I was told to wait for the staff that walk around the waiting room because they are more flexible, and when I finally saw one, explained my situation and asked if someone could just take it, their only response was, “we know. We’re trying,” and then they walked away.
I was not expecting to receive special treatment above those with appointments, and with it being Saturday, this location is the only one open. It was the constant dismissal of my urgency to get back to my loved one with dementia. I understand there’s a protocol but there should also be understanding.
My mother was there to drop off a sample. They suddently said they could not find my mother's insurance information, even though she has been to Quest 3 times within the past 3 months. My mother called me on the phone so I can explain it to them, as her English is not very good. The employee refused to speak to me because of "privacy concern". I think it is more about their "incompetent concern", then "privacy concern" for my mother.

I like to meet the people that come out to the lobby and ask questions like “How many tubes of blood are you taking out to see that my health is good?” or “Do I need to go to the bathroom for the cup after getting the blood draw and work”? when getting my recent lab test at Quest Diagnostics.
Overall experience was good. They have a self check in when you arrive. It was very simple and easy to do. The bathroom didn't have soap but wasn't dirty, per-say. The waiting area is pretty basic. I was late for my appointment but during check -in, i was able to find another time with-in the hour, so that wasn't bad. I'm glad I didn't have to come back!
My technician seemed a bit impatient when I heard her calling for people who weren't there. BUT she was helpful to her patient, even going into the lobby to grab something for her. At first I didn't care much for that. THEN my name was called. She was professional, quick, and my blood draw was flawless! We had nice small convo and she made me feel comfortable. I got my results THE NEXT DAY!
I would recommend Quest Diagnostics to friends and family.
