TLDR: My old PCP left, and got 1 that implied I was abusing my meds and and validity of my ADHD. Despite all the records proving of said diagnosis. Sent in a referral to get re-evaluated, that I did not consent to or even knew about. STAY AWAY.
To the response: Ah. Soo.. per usual, no accountability in this answer. Clearly, the issue was not WHAT was done, but HOW it was done. Funny, that accusatory behavior desguised as "Care" Is somehow OK (Which, shocker, I predicted was going to be in this response). Are we pretending like Ribera didn't have my medical records, because I sent Catherine my paperwork from my psychiatrist. So, there was a pre-established history BEFORE I was assigned a new 1. If there was such a concern, this NP could have discussed my diagnosis with my psych Doc.
When a PCP leaves a practice, a patient's medical records doesn't just vanish. There could've been so MANY different, better, ways this could have played out. This "apology" reeks of CYA, rather than genuine sincerity. I wish YOU the best of luck learning from this misstep.
If I could give zero stars, I would. Upon reading other 1 star reviews on this page, it lines up with my experience. My former PCP for a couple of years, Catherine James, was attentive, great bedside manner and very friendly. Then, in October, I got notice that she was leaving the practice and had one more month just doing telehealth appts. Then for reasons unknown, she exited abruptly. When I made a refill appt, I got set up with a new NP.
To my dismay, I got the exact opposite. (Based on past reviews, she has been named in one of them). Anyway, she was cold, condescending, terrible bedside manner, and it felt like she didn't want be dealing with my needs. She did refill my meds and order labs, then share results next appt.(Which btw, I thought that it was just preliminary, NOT that she needed to see that I was taking my meds which I have NEVER heard of....) I decided to hold off on the labs and do it after the new year since my better insurance would begin and not get charged $100 with my insurance that I had.
I show up to my telehealth appt, and she did not bother attending. Stating that since I did not do my labs, there was no reason to meet and could not provide the refill. Which is insane, since I have to call Ribera everytime I need a refill of this particular med. She also speaks as if she repeated a million times before. (Where she only said it one time, if at all). So, add a LOUSY communicator to the list. Since I needed my meds, I had to run to the nearest tricore to get it done. Then when going over results, she was VERY accusatory hinting that I was misusing meds. All because of a 2 day lapse before the appt which led to neg result.(Due to my meds short half-life). Afterwards, I get a text from a psychiatry service due to a referral they received. Come to realize, the referral came from RIBERA so that I can get re-evaluated for ADHD. (Which I DID NOT consent to btw, nonetheless was aware.)
Soooo Not ONLY did she think I was abusing my meds, but also had the AUDACITY to question, whether I actually have ADHD regardless having plenty of proof from my OWN psychiatrist stating otherwise. I ALREADY went through the whole trial and error journey of finding the right combo of medication for mental health(which btw took MONTHS of taking a whole bunch of different meds to finally get it right). Not gonna do it all over again with somebody else, all because of an unsympathetic, paranoid NP is thinking I abuse my meds. I honestly think that the only other profession she may be worse at , is being a therapist. That's how little she cares for her patients. I have NEVER had a provider like this. I will NEVER be going back. Oh and Ribera, don't even bother sending a trite, copy and paste response saying "We care for the wellbeing of our patients." I can see it coming a mile away and I don't wanna hear it. If you as a healthcare business really cared about your patients (or in this case losing patients). You would fix this problem. This is NOT the profession for her.
