i’ve been coming to this office for 3 years now and my daughter has been going for 1 year. i’m usually very understanding and patient, as i am a nurse myself and know that things don’t always run on course.
well, they caught me on a day that i’m not understanding, as their office was completely unprofessional towards me today. i went in for my shots as soon as the shot room reopened, signed in, and waited to be called. about 10 minutes later, another patient came in for shots; he signed in and waited. he saw me there with my 2 small children already waiting to be seen. my daughter kept asking when i’d be getting my shots, as we had been waiting for awhile; so he heard her and knew we had been waiting quite some time at this point. he went to the shot room after not being called for some time and asked to be seen; the nurse called him back moments later. i stated that i had been waiting 25 minutes already for my shots and i was there before him. they stated that due to the outage last week, my name didn’t cross over. so instead of taking me first, the nurse took him first. during this whole time, not once did the receptionist or nurse behind the desk ask if i needed help or checked to see if i was waiting for shots (keep in mind, it’s just me with my children, the patient that was taken before me, and another patient there for his observation). rather, they were chit chatting about someone in jail. after the gentleman that came after me had gotten his shots, they apologized for my wait time and stated that they are “training” new staff. i finally got my shots, after a 35 minute wait, and the nurse asked if i would be staying for my observation. i said no, as i already waited 30 minutes to get my shots and i needed to get my baby home for a nap.
the doctors are wonderful and up until today, i had no issues. but their hours for shots keep dwindling, making it harder to get there and be seen in a timely fashion. i had gone one day last week and missed the hours by 3 minutes and they refused to give me my shots, even though a nurse was sitting there. at this point, i will be looking for a new office for myself and my daughter.
