  I went to the location in Marlton, NJ. My consult with the surgeon went well. Once my appointment concluded I was sent to meet with the surgeon’s scheduler who totally blew me off. This was the beginning of my nightmare. She refused to give me a chance to talk and then proceeded to say that this surgeon wasn’t in my insurance network. I attempted to tell her that I have out of network coverage but she refused to hear me while insisting and continuing to tell me that I must go to an in network provider which was a total lie. I contacted my insurance company and asked to speak with a supervisor regarding my situation. After I finished explaining everything to the supervisor my insurance company was willing to make an exception for me. They were willing to pay the surgeon at the in network rate. The supervisor with me on the line reached out to this company to explain that they were willing to pay the in network fees for my services. The insurance company reached out directly numerous times to no avail. Nobody would even hear what they had to say. There was a big misunderstanding about my medical insurance due to me having a PPO Medicare Advantage Plan that is always my primary insurance. My secondary insurance is NJ Family Care with additional services through MLTSS. This means that whether in network or not my secondary insurance is required to pay the costs associated with my care that my primary insurance provider doesn’t pay. When I call The Plastic Surgery Center, the surgeons scheduler screamed at my and reiterated her initial statements. I called the main number to make a complaint after explaining everything that happened including accusations made by the scheduler. I was told that the supervisor of the office would investigate what happened and would call me back when she concluded her investigation. She never called me. Instead I received 2 letters from The Plastic Surgery Center, one was certified, stating that I was being discharged as a patient from the practice! Instead of fully evaluating the issues including the fact that there was misunderstanding along with confusion regarding my insurance coverage and truly getting to the bottom of everything, it was easier for the company to discharge me as a patient in the end despite how wrong they were!
