  I’ve had multiple disappointing experiences at the Hackettstown GNC location, and at this point, I would strongly recommend going to the Succasunna store instead. One of the biggest issues I ran into was with a BOGO promotion. I was told at checkout that the deal had been applied, but when I reviewed my receipt afterward, it clearly wasn’t reflected in what I was charged. When I brought this up, instead of taking the time to double-check or correct the issue, the manager became defensive and insisted everything was applied correctly. That kind of response was frustrating and made me feel dismissed as a customer. I’ve also had issues with being told I couldn’t use my rewards points unless I spent a certain amount, which didn’t seem accurate and only added to the lack of transparency. Overall, the customer service at this location has been consistently disappointing. Because of these repeated experiences, I now go out of my way to shop at the Succasunna location, where the staff is knowledgeable, respectful, and actually takes the time to help. The difference between the two locations is significant.

  Made a quick stop in to pick stuff up. James was absolutely wonderful. Very helpful knowledgeable. GNC is lucky to have him. Guy needs a raise!

  I came to this GNC not too long ago because I wasn’t close to the one I usually go to, and the guy there I think his name was James helped me a lot. I asked him about the usual protein powder I get and he told me that the one I was getting wasn’t really helping me with what I wanted to achieve, so he showed me some different ones that would actually help me. He was a great guy overall and really deserves some recognition.

  I stopped by the other day looking for a protein powder and the guy on staff, James, was super knowledgable and friendly. He was able to walk me through the pros and cons of the different options and was even able to snag me some freebies for me to try out. I would definitely recommend shopping at this store and I’ll be going back myself.

  If I could give 0 stars I would. Rob, the manager, is beyond unprofessional and has no customer service skills. I spend hundreds of dollars a month at GNC and when I tried to exchange an item for a different flavor without a receipt, he said there's "nothing he can do" and that being a member "doesn't matter". He then called the franchise owner, Ahmad, who told him to give me half the price I paid towards the exchange (they can look in the system and see exactly how much I paid for it since I bought the product only 6 days ago). I've exchanged items without a recipe before at other GNCs without any issues (supposed to be one of the benefits of being a member). He also didn't know his store number as the manager. Save your time and go to the GNC in Rockaway or Roxbury. Or just go to Vitamin Shoppe. Maybe if they respected their customers their shelves would be full...
