Patient Abandonment by Neurosurgeon at Critical Moment Dr. Goldberg evaluated my 82-year-old mother at Englewood Hospital for progressive spinal stenosis with severe neurological symptoms. Dr. Goldberg stated he would not perform surgery at Englewood Hospital due to concerns about post-surgical complications and the hospital's inability to handle them. Dr. Goldberg stated he would sign transfer paperwork anywhere, at any time, by anyone who asks to help facilitate transfer to a specialty care hospital. Then Dr. Goldberg disappeared. No explanation. No communication. No reassignment to another neurosurgeon. I contacted Dr. Goldberg's office requesting he follow through on his commitment. No response. My mother is now mostly wheelchair-bound with urinary retention and inability to move her bowels. She continues to deteriorate by the day. She is currently hospitalized with an unknown outcome. This could have potentially been reversed if Dr. Goldberg had not abandoned her at her most vulnerable time of need. This is patient abandonment. Dr. Goldberg, at my mother's most vulnerable time of need: will you help, or will you abandon her again? If you cannot trust a doctor to follow through on facilitating the care they themselves recommended, how can you possibly trust them to handle post-operative complications? Choose your neurosurgeon wisely. This review is based on documented facts and recorded statements. All claims are supported by verifiable evidence. Rating: ★☆☆☆☆

Dr.Golorgoski and his team are amazing. I went in with pain in my lower back and radiating neuropathy and partial drop foot. I am 3 months out and now I have no pain, the neuropathy has subsided and the partial drop foot has improved. Thank you for you miracle hands and your amazing bedside manners. I highly recommend Dr. Golorgoski..

Dr Golorgoski is a miracle worker. I filled out the form online for a second opinion and within 15 minutes, I received a phone call from Shannon, the practice manager. A few hours later I was in the Englewood office getting a full work up, including xrays with Joe, the most amazing xray tech. Joe came to work on his day off, just for me. I felt comfortable and at ease from the moment I walked through the doors. I met with Shannon, Damaris (the most incredible Nurse Practitioner), and Dr Golorgoski. Being an RN, I knew my diagnosis wasn't great and that I needed surgery immediately. Dr Golorgoski took the time to explain my condition in detail and then we discussed options. He took his time and guided me through the entire surgical and recovery process. I went home the same day of my surgery. I had minimal pain post op and was on the road to recovery in no time. Now, 1 year later, and I'm almost completely pain free! My numbness is 100% gone as is all of the weakness I was experiencing. Dr Golorgoski healed me. I couldn't be more grateful for this extraordinary team from start to finish. The compassion, respect, and knowledge of the office staff and group of professionals is phenomenal. They all go above and beyond. Thank you Dr Golorgoski, Shannon, Damaris, Joe, and the rest of the incredible team.

Quality of care is a 5, the nurses have and continue to be amazing, and office staff are doing their best given the script they are handed on a daily basis. That said, they are burdened by the false presumption that providers are gods and do not need to respect the time of their patients or staff. Staking meetings on top of appointments is simply disrespectful - the time is already spoken for. Are there always emergencies, sure, which is great, because you can plan for something that always happens, even if you don't know what that something happens to be on any given day. Categorizing these meetings as emergent is questionable, largely because, if it were actually emergent, what is the statistical likelihood that would land so conveniently at 9am? It's possible, but not real likely. If the staff were 45 minutes late with regularity, they would be fired. Somehow it has become culturally acceptable for doctors to simply disregard their appointment obligations for no other reason than they are doctors. Nope, the MD does not give one an open license for disrespect. I made a 9am appointment so as NOT to be delayed by the typical medical office delays. I walked out at 9:45. And this was supposed to be a "quick" appointment, probably 5 minutes, maybe 10. Cool, so at minimum your day was running 450%-900% late - out of the gate. Again, legitimately some of the best nurses I have ever been treated by, but even they have been conditioned so strongly that the "explanations" have simply become per-recorded mental scripts. It isn't an explanation, it isn't even an excuse, rather a Pavlovian response to the systemic assumption that, in a medical office, a provider's toxic disrespect of schedule is something to be celebrated. Not by this patient.
