I was previously at another local big box pharmacy and they were always rude and really had no compassion. Stop & Shop Pharmacy is always kind, helpful and professional.

I don’t usually write reviews, but Olivia, the pharmacist was extremely helpful and ordered the vaccine I needed, which was very hard to find at any other pharmacy. All the pharmacy staff were extremely knowledgeable and quick!

I went yesterday (Saturday) to put in for refill for my dog’s seizure medications that we have been consistently filling ONLY at this particular stop & shop location for years now. Since one of my family members usually picks it up, I have never actually gone to the pharmacy but I have to say, I have never been so disappointed due to so many things that were wrong about this interaction. The pharmacist, Erin Young, was insensitive, uncaring and seemed quite indolent despite the fact that she had no other patients or work to tend to than us at the time. Erin did not even bother getting up from her seat behind the shelves during the entire duration of this conversation and had me yelling about the whole time. After a moment of checking, she simply stated that there was no refill for his seizure medications. Except I had previously confirmed with my veterinarian’s office that new prescriptions had been sent there. When I questioned about how a prescription can simply be lost and unaccounted for like that, she seemed to roll her eyes before stating, with heavy resentment, something along the lines of “they don’t get lost. They get put in the computer,” and even claiming that perhaps the prescription was at CVS. I was simply irate because from the very first diagnosis and prescription of my dog’s epilepsy roughly 4 years or so ago, we have ALWAYS gone here but instead of offering an alternative solution, this was her response?!? And when I exclaimed that that would be ridiculous, she merely stated that in that case, I would have to wait an additional 3 days until Monday to get any answer on this situation. Three days missing of a seizure medication can be a dire situation for any epileptic patient, and in my dog’s case, he was on two dosages (filled right here at stop and shop) plus a third medication (filled at Walgreens, with NO issues, might I add) so needless to say, he could not be without his medications. I was furious because I should not need to stress this to a MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL such as her. I had to insist on getting an emergency supply of his medication before she reluctantly agreed. Of course, she had us wait for an unnecessarily long 15 or so minutes to give us just 4 capsules. Outside of the variables of this current situation, it all boils down to poor customer service, lack of care and perhaps even racism on her part because while waiting for the emergency supply, Erin, the pharmacist tended to two additional patients, one after the other, except this time, she was on her feet and actually came up to the counter to speak to them, quite nicely too. If I had been mistreated despite being a college educated American, I cannot imagine how she must’ve mistreated others or even my own family members that don’t speak fluent English. This is shameful to witness and needless to say, very unprofessional. At Walgreens, I’ve seen patients wait the same 15 minutes time for 4 or 5 or even more prescriptions of over 200 count tablets even with other patients waiting and constant phone calls but here?? With no patients waiting, no phone calls coming, where the pharmacist has ample time to sit down and laze around on her phone, she won’t get up from her seat to help a longstanding customer with such an important medication. I’m so so disappointed, I cannot fathom such a demeanor from a MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL who had been sworn in to this line of work. An oath to help EVERY patient regardless of any other particulars, especially the color of the skin.
