I got my first pair of glasses at this store, years ago. I'm now finding myself coming back to this store for everything I need. The staff and inventory are exceptional.

I have been reluctant to write this review, but I feel it needs to get out there. I “had” been a patient, for many years at this clinic and always loved Dr. Goerke as my Optometrist, as well as the help of Carmen. However, after being seen & given a new prescription in December 2024, with a VERY thorough examination at that time, I felt as if my vision started to change in late 2025 & was seen again in early January 2026. The day of my most recent appointment, Dr. Goerke was running behind and the front office staff working that day, neglected to mention it to the other two patients waiting in front of me, until one of them asked, which one wasn’t a problem for me, EXCEPT when an exam is rushed. When I was seen in 2024, I was taken into a different room by Cassandra and a special test was conducted on my eyes, while I looked into a machine. That did not happen this year. Had it been done, maybe it would have saved me some of the worry and run around, not to mention having to find a new eye Dr. to get a NEW prescription, AFTER seeing the specialist Dr. Goerke sent me to one month later! STILL not being able to see! The day of my 20-25 minute appt in January, all the Dr. did was look in my eyes, have me read the lines in the wall, etc. Absolutely NO drops of any sort during the exam to look for any eye diseases. She did tell me I had a Posterior Subcapsular Cataract in my left eye, different than the “normal” cataracts that elderly people get. Gave me a pamphlet for an eye specialist in town and told me as soon as I notice change, call and she’ll get me back in to check it and send me to a specialist for surgery. Otherwise, go back in 3 months. AND, once I had the cateract removed, come back and she would write me a new prescription. One month later, I was noticing a change. I called and Cassandra was rude to me on the phone, but that was nothing new, as it had happened more than once (I didn’t buy glasses there in 2024, because none of the help working wanted to assist me when I was looking). The day I called with change, it was like I was bothering her, or she didn’t believe me and didn’t want to talk to the Dr. She talked with Carmen, who did talk to the Dr., but bypassed the coming back in. The soonest available was in 2wks, which one would think there would be appointments for emergencies. They made me an appointment at a different specialist (different from the pamphlet she gave me) in town and that was also a two week wait. I went to the specialist and found out that I DO NOT have that cataract in my left eye, but rather the start of Glaucoma in my right eye! How confusing this must be for someone! Which Dr. is right? The specialist that is OLD that I was made an appointment with and is in the process of phasing out, or the Optometrist that didn’t do an appropriate exam on me to diagnose, and/or mis-diagnosis me? After leaving the specialist (who told me I need a new prescription and that isn’t something they do there), I called Dr. Goerke’s office and spoke with Carmen. She said once they got the notes and the Dr. read them, she’d call back. Later that day, she called letting me know I need to go to the specialist for an exam, since they will be monitoring me for my “condition,” because there was nothing more she could do for me! Either Carmen didn’t listen to me or they did not read the specialists notes before calling me back! I have to find a new vision clinic to get a refraction, is what the specialist told me. So… now I find a new vision clinic, in hopes to get the right script, not to mention paying out of pocket for that because I used my insurance with this place! And had Dr. Goerke done her job and given me a through exam, I wouldn’t have had to go and pay out of pocket for the specialist and all of those tests! I would love to see what my insurance company was billed for from Pearle! I feel I should be reimbursed, as well as my insurance company! How frustrating is this?! NEVER would I recommend this place or Dr. Goerke!

There is not a better optometry shop around. Elizabeth Goerke & her staff are a first class optometry shop, but they are even better people. The whole shop care about you & your situation! I cannot “see” a chance at a better optometry experience (pun intended)!!!

I had a great experience with both Dr. Goerke and her support staff. In both the exam process and in the selection and fitting of lenses, I felt that they were genuinely concerned about my health and that I had a positive experience. I have, and will continue, to recommend this office for eye care.
