AAASF Surgical Suite
The operating suite at the Summit office in Wilmington is nationally accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAASF). We were the first in Wilmington to have this important distinction demonstrating that we maintain the highest quality of patient care. Our operating suite meets the stringent national standards for equipment, operating room safety protocols, certified personnel and credentialing as set forth by the AAAASF.
CLIA Certified Mohs Lab
For your convenience and to ensure the very best outcome from your cancer surgery, the Summit has CLIA certified Mohs labs in Wilmington and Supply. Our board certified dermatologist is a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon. This means that your pathology specimen is prepared in our CLIA certified lab and is being read under the microscope at the time of your surgery. This methodical process in which tissue is removed and examined, has the highest cure rate for skin cancer removal.

Very thorough and professional in all aspects. Answered all my questions and explained everything in simple terms. Took care of over a dozen moles and I walked out only paying co-pay. The receptionist initially didn’t recognize the term and had to call back the next day to confirm, “Yes, we do that.” To make sure we were discussing the same procedure, my wife politely asked for a brief description. The receptionist replied, “We cut the upper lip.” When my wife explained that this didn’t sound correct (a lip lift is performed via a small incision hidden under the base of the nose, not by cutting into the lip itself), the receptionist became visibly annoyed. My wife then asked a very reasonable follow-up question: “How many of these procedures has the surgeon performed?” The receptionist refused to answer, snapped that no information of any kind would be given without first paying the full consultation fee upfront, and remained rude and condescending throughout the rest of the call. For context, my wife contacted five other clinics with the exact same questions (what the procedure involves and the surgeon’s experience level). Every single one answered professionally and courteously without demanding payment for basic information. Accurate, respectful communication is non-negotiable—especially in aesthetic surgery. Because of this experience, we will not be moving forward with your practice. I strongly suggest retraining (or reevaluating) your front-desk staff) so other prospective patients are not treated this way. We’ll be taking our business elsewhere.
