We had a very good overall experience, especially with the staff. Dr. Pitman is really excellent. He listens to all our concerns carefully, answers every question we ask, and never makes us feel rushed. As new parents, this gives us a lot of comfort. He is very patient and explains everything in a simple way so we can understand properly. We feel very lucky to have him as our daughter’s doctor and we always feel happy going to see him.
We also had a very good experience with Dr. Mock, who is my wife’s OB-GYN. She has always been very helpful, kind, and clear in answering all our questions. We really appreciate her support and guidance throughout.
The only area where we faced some issue is with the lab process, mainly blood sample handling. Unfortunately, this problem happened multiple times where our newborn’s blood samples were lost and we had to go through repeat collections. As parents, it is very painful to see a newborn go through this again and again, and this should not happen.
We sincerely hope the management looks into this and improves the process, especially for newborns, so that proper care is taken and such issues do not happen in future.
Apart from this, the doctors and staff are very caring and supportive.

My daughter scheduled and attended a routine annual preventive physical examination in December 2025. During the visit, Physician Assistant Natalie Miller asked standard screening questions regarding general health and mental well-being — questions that are customarily part of a preventive annual exam. At no point was my daughter informed that responding to these routine screening questions could result in the encounter being billed as two separate office visits under CPT codes 99395 (preventive visit) and 99214 (problem-oriented visit).
We subsequently learned from our insurance provider that two evaluation codes had been submitted for the same date of service and that the 99214 “problem-oriented” portion would not be covered. When I contacted the clinic for clarification, I was told that because certain topics extended “beyond” the preventive exam, separate billing was permissible. I was also reminded that my daughter had signed a financial responsibility agreement obligating her to pay any charges denied by insurance.
While we understand that such billing may be considered legally allowable under certain circumstances, our concern centers on transparency and informed financial consent. If a visit transitions from a preventive service to a separately billable evaluation and management service, patients should be clearly notified at the time the scope changes. Without that disclosure, patients are deprived of the opportunity to make informed decisions about whether to proceed, defer discussion, or schedule a separate appointment.
Patients reasonably expect that routine screening conversations conducted during an annual physical are included within the preventive visit. Clear communication regarding potential additional charges should occur before services are rendered — not after insurance has denied payment.
We appreciate Dr. Roshni Patel’s willingness to engage in dialogue regarding this matter and her efforts to review and improve transparency moving forward.

Before you go in, do not fill out any questionnaires, they will charge you. You need to be extremely clear on what you talk about or else you will end up paying half a grand for tests you did not need, etc. This office makes sure to charge every code possible, not used to this sort of behavior from my old PCP.

I recently visited the Novant Health Emergency Room, and I want to express my deep appreciation for the exceptional care I received. I arrived with dangerously high blood pressure and severe reflux, and the medical team acted quickly, professionally, and with genuine concern for my condition.
From the moment I walked in, the staff treated me with respect and urgency. The nurses were attentive, constantly monitoring my vitals, explaining every step, and making sure I was as comfortable as possible. The doctor was thorough, calm, and highly competent. He quickly identified what was happening, ordered the necessary tests, and adjusted my treatment based on my reactions in real time. I felt that I was under the care of people who truly knew what they were doing.
The entire process — from check-in to diagnosis and stabilization — was handled smoothly and efficiently. Despite the stressful situation, the team created an environment where I felt safe and supported. They didn’t rush, didn’t ignore any detail, and made sure I understood what was causing my symptoms and how to prevent future issues.
Thanks to their quick intervention, my blood pressure returned to a safe level, my reflux was brought under control, and I left with clear instructions and confidence in my recovery.
This emergency room deserves the highest praise for professionalism, compassion, and quality of care. I’m truly grateful for the help I received and strongly recommend Novant Health ER to anyone who needs fast and competent medical attention.

Dr Chung is excellent! He truly listened and gave me valuable and easy to understand information to help me improve my health. I felt truly comfortable speaking my concerns to him. I’ve already told my husband he should see Dr Chung. All of his staff was super friendly and respectful. It actually caught my attention how friendly everyone was.
