No Humanity.. Upon arrival, you are met with a very low functioning rickety (literally) and nearly inoperable kiosk for check-in. Just press the "help" button for assistance, and all will be well? Nope. Someone from several states away (AL), let us know we're on our own. The process took so long that time passed beyond the closing time, however, an online notice popped up claiming we'd be seen since we've been inside the "lobby" before closing. Nope again. And in addition, an email was received assuring that staff is "staying late" to see us. Nope #3, as finally, someone came from behind the always locked entry to actual services only to inform, we were "registered", yes, but not "checked in". On mention of the receipt of confirmation and assurance of seeing someone, they responded that that was "only an email". A ridiculous waste of time, and proof that taking human contact out of the equation, To Save Money and Maximize Profit, still does have an Expense.. for the sick not only suffering from injury or illness but also struggling just to be seen. So now, here at a local hospital Emergency Room, WakeMed at Durant and Falls of Neuse Roads, the check-in, with a live, and very polite human being took all of 30 Seconds, and with a full waiting room of about 40 people, my ailing friend, waited only 10 minutes for "triage", and was then seen not long after that. Hooray for Humanity! Not a poor substitute.
