Home Instead caregivers are professionally trained, which was apparent from the moment of their arrival. Each caregiver was very engaging with both me and my mom, eager to understand her routine and specfic needs. Once I walked out of the door until my return, I had peace-of-mind my mom was in good hands.

Sue at Home Instead in Pinehurst arranged everything and she was awesome. Our questions/issues were dealt with quickly and she was available 24/7. She gets 5 stars and if there were 6 stars, she'd get that as well. Two of the care workers from Home Instead earned 5 stars as well from mom. But it went downhill from there, with one care worker getting a 3 and one my mother called "terrible." One played games on her phone, another brought in takeout ribs, sat down in front of my mother, and ate dinner, never asking if she needed anything. So as much as we'd recommend Home Instead, be aware that like many home care groups, it's obviously a challenge to get good people. I'm sure Home Instead would agree. We ended up with Home Instead out of sheer luck, a google search from Boston. I had 24 hours to make it happen and didn't have time to "shop." All in all, it was a good experience and even with a few speed bumps, Home Instead helped my mother get through a tough time.
