  I was a patient for over 10 years and I thought it was okay, they were lazy about insurance prior authorizations though. My main problem was there were medications that my insurance definitely cover with a PA that are non-preferred, but covered with a simple PA. They would just keep telling me my insurance doesn’t cover it. As soon as I changed over to Atrium, there are no problems at all getting my medications promptly through insurance. Other than constant PA issues, I thought they were nice and cared. I found out a HIPAA violation was committed by the front office because someone in the community repeated what one of the front office staff said. Concerning, so I consulted with someone and followed their advice to call and speak with Novant’s privacy line and explained what happened. They told me it was definitely a violation and told me if they investigated it there would be no retaliation under Novant’s policy. They looked into it, and I was immediately dismissed as a patient. Their letter said the dismissal was not just my doctor but no provider there will treat me “because we can’t agree on how to treat you”. How is this not retaliation? And by the way I CAN prove the violation but don’t want to stay at a place that treats people tgis way. Novant won’t follow up with me about this either. This is supposed to be law. Such an unprofessional office. I moved over to Atrium and they immeduately fixed my medications that DMA couldn’t/wouldn’t, and I have gotten so much better in a short time because they also got me testing that Novant said wasn’t possible. I feel much better and will never trust Novant again. What an awful experience, after being there over 10 years, I saw their care was fake. No excuse for a HIPAA violation- twice. They won’t admit it, that’s why they dismissed me, but there were at least 2 people out in the community who discussed my medical info and also asked why I filed a complaint! They were told by the same person I filed the complaint about, that I filed a complaint about the first violation. That’s deplorable. And it can be proven because the people discussing my private medical information are only connected to this office one way. Don’t come for me for telling the truth.

  I recommend April Shore to anyone in search of a provider. She is very caring and listens to what you have to say. The staff is excellent!! You enter the door greeted with a smile and you leave with the same.
