  Went to see Dr. Young have Novant Oceanside family healthcare in Leland after being in a great deal of pain for three weeks with a nerve impingement in my upper shoulder and upper back area. I told her that I needed something to take the pain down from a nine as most of the drugs that I was taking after going to the emergency room, three weeks earlier did not manage the pain well unless I took hydrocodone. That was the only time that my pain level came down to a two And I could actually function around the house and work. She didn’t really seem too concerned with what I was telling her And prescribed pregabalin 50 mg which takes 4 to 5 days to get into your system, and actually provide relief for nerve pain. That night I woke up at 2:44 AM and my shoulder and lower neck area were burning so bad I could not go back to sleep. I took some more extra strength Tylenol and sat on the couch with an ice bag. I was extremely disappointed in the level of care, empathy and concern for my situation from Dr. Young. I will not be going back. My prior physician there, Dr. Hamby always took his time, was empathetic, and always seem to have my best interest heart. I did not feel that way working with Dr. Young.
