  I want to share this so others are aware. During my annual physical, I mentioned some new health concerns I’ve had over the past year. I later found out that discussing those concerns resulted in an additional office visit charge that my insurance did not fully cover. If you have concerns, I recommend asking ahead of time whether simply mentioning them will be considered part of your preventive visit or billed separately. I wasn’t aware of the distinction, and no one clarified it during the appointment. I tend to get nervous at doctor visits and was simply talking through my concerns, not realizing it could change the billing classification. Just something to keep in mind so there are no surprises.
