Dr. Hunt was amazing, alot of patience. She took her time with my 15 year old daughter was thorough, explained alot and addressed all of our concerns and needed referrals.
Frequent inconsistencies. Due to rescheduling, NOT ON MY PART they call you and tell you, i called this morning to make sure my abby still had an appointment and it was confirmed. This is why I ask, whenever possible to schedule my child at the robeson location. I get off work and pull her out of daycare drive all the way here just to be told oh no she doesn't have an appointment it was rescheduled. Well you reschedule her so dang much im starting to think why dont they just refer us somewhere else.

“Vaccinating your child is the most important health-promoting intervention that pediatric clinics perform… As medical professionals, we feel very strongly that vaccinating your child on schedule with currently available vaccines is absolutely the right thing to do to protect all children and young adults.”
If this practice feels that strongly about vaccination policy and schedule compliance, they should also be willing to provide transparency and support when it comes to the cost of those vaccinations.
After my baby’s 3-month wellness visit following the standard vaccination schedule, they billed my insurance $2,004. I had personally called my insurance beforehand and verified that routine visits and scheduled vaccinations were covered. The office also told me the visit was covered. What I was not told was that this would result in an $886.80 out-of-pocket bill.
A few weeks later, I was blindsided with the balance and told I needed to either reschedule my baby’s 4-month wellness visit or pay the nearly $900 owed before being seen again.
When I questioned the charges, they claimed they had called my insurance and had notes on my paperwork — notes that were illegible and unclear. I was told something along the lines of "$125 covered for the visit and $100 for vaccinations," but none of that information was ever disclosed to me before or during the appointment.
Now they are saying I also owe balances for two prior visits because claims are being repeatedly refiled due to confusion on their end about coverage. Meanwhile, I’ve spoken directly with my insurance and received a detailed, line-by-line breakdown of what was and wasn’t covered — information the clinic still seems unable to clearly interpret or explain.
Their stance is that it is entirely the patient’s responsibility to know exactly what insurance will and will not cover prior to the appointment and to pay any difference — because they “don’t have enough staff” to verify benefits for every patient. When I asked if they could at least provide a written estimate going forward so I could do my due diligence, I was told they could not.
So there is no cost transparency, no estimate, no compromise, and no accountability — just a bill and instructions to fill out a financial assistance application.
For parents with healthy children, you may want to consider getting vaccinations through your local health department, where they are often available at low or no cost until age 18. That is something their own office staff mentioned to me after telling me to reschedule my baby’s appointment due to the outstanding balance.
Strong vaccination advocacy is one thing. Financial transparency and ethical billing practices should come with it.
