During my first visit with Dr Kahn, I felt heard and cared for. He has compassion and really wants to help people. Even after my appointment he continued to research my diagnosis and added more steps to my care plan and had his staff call me the next day for an update

I entered the office stated my name at the check in, sat down and was called after just a few minutes. Debbie took a few pictures of my eyes, then Faith with more testing. Dr Bryan came in after reviewing my tests and was concerned with the deteriorating left eye. He explained my eye condition and what I could expect after surgery. With his years of experience, I could sense that he already had the surgical plan for my best result. He delivered to me the confidence I will need for a successful surgery. Thank you

Dr Duggan did my cataract surgery 2 years ago and follow up laser procedures to to clear clouding of the capsules. He is knowledgeable, an excellent cataract surgeon and he and his staff always make me feel like I am seen and known, a rare treat in most medical practices. I highly recommend this practice, and especially Dr Duggan.

Dr. Sara Deacon is top gun. Dr. Deacon spent a great deal of time testing my eyes, explained everything in depth and I walked away with a plan of action and far greater understanding of my eye issues. The praise could go on but suffice to say that Dr. Deacon is simply brilliant. Three years of constant and increasing misery and I finally got to someone who put the pieces together and on my way to relief.

My first visit, the doctor spoke to me disrespectfully. Last year was better. This year was okay, only in terms of his tone of voice. However, he found something suspicious in the scan. Not knowing what it is, he showed the image it to me, and said he would do nothing now except to watch it. But added that it “could” be something bad. That’s it. I’m set to return in a year from now so he can “watch” it, on the same basis as my regular annual appointment. Nothing new or different, but it “could” be something bad. The good doctor may not have been taught this in training. But every word he speaks to his patients registers deeply if only because of the power differential. I have some clinical background and so my level of expectation in terms of bedside manner and judgment for treatment is higher than usual. I also expect to be consulted and included in decisions related to my health. For starters, I request a copy of-the image and related notes for my files. I was too stunned to ask for it as I left the office. Thank you for this opportunity to offer my feedback. Ms. Commerse
