I have to share a very positive experience today. I have had pink eye that just won’t go away coupled with a trip to Costa Rica tomorrow. I called Greensboro Ophthalmology in the morning on the oft chance I could be seen. The office manager called back right away and I was seen within the hour. Unbelievable!! They thoroughly checked my eyes and took great history. Dr. Gould is a wealth of knowledge and willing to share it. So kind and sweet. Consequently my fears were relieved and appropriate medication prescribed. I love this practice and feel at ease here. The desk was so courteous and helpful. Dr. Bowen is my main doctor with the practice and he is just as thorough and knowledgeable. It is so nice to be affiliated with this practice and I want to thank them for taking care of my eyes. Keep up the good work and know you are appreciated and doing amazing work!!

Today I saw Dr Lyles for the first time. So grateful for him. His calming presence and easygoing personality was so refreshing as I am very queasy with anything to do with eyes. He made me feel very comfortable and explained a lot to me. It was possible I was going to need a procedure that petrified me. We talked about it and we are going to monitor me instead as he felt I did not necessarily need the procedure at this time. I have to say, as afraid of this procedure as I was, after meeting him I knew that I would still be afraid but I would be able to do it if he was going to do the procedure on me. A calming demeanor goes a long way with folks like us that are afraid. Thank you so very much Dr Lyles for your professional knowledge, advice and great personality. See you next year!!

Staff assisting with appointments over the phone are extremely unprofessional and need to be retrained. Call twice and got hung up on the first time.

I scheduled this appointment about three weeks ago and had the day circled because it was supposed to be the start of addressing an ongoing eye issue I have been dealing with. Unfortunately, I was unexpectedly working on December 26, 2025. I am a social worker and ended up transporting a child, which caused a delay. I believed my appointment was at 1:00 PM, and once I realized I would be about 30 minutes late, I called to explain the situation and ask if I could still come. The woman I spoke with told me the appointment would only be held for 15 minutes and that I would be charged a 50 dollar no show fee. I asked if I could still come anyway and explained it was last minute but unavoidable. She said no and stated the fee would apply. She then mentioned that my actual appointment time was 1:15 PM, but since I was a new patient, they asked me to arrive at 1:00 PM. I explained that if the appointment time was 1:15 and I was asking to arrive by 1:30 at the latest, it did not make sense to charge a no show fee since I was not 15 minutes late to the actual appointment time. She told me that was incorrect because new patients are required to arrive 15 minutes early. I tried to explain how unreasonable that sounded. What is the purpose of an appointment time if you are expected to arrive earlier and then charged a fee based on that earlier time instead of the scheduled appointment time. She stated she spoke with a colleague or supervisor and said I could cancel the appointment, but if I wanted to reschedule, I would still have to pay the 50 dollar fee. I found this very insulting and illogical. The entire interaction felt rigid and dismissive, and the woman was rude throughout the conversation. I chose not to reschedule and ended the call. Overall, this was a very frustrating and unreasonable experience. Worst experience I have had with a medical office.

Was referred here by Urgent Care due to my husband had an ulcer on his eye. We were to see the Ophthalmologist on call. Arrived, filled out paperwork, seated, called back were the assistant charted and look into his eye, seated again in the waiting room, called back again and left seating in a room listening to the doctor going to the room beside us more than once. Very very poor service. So in short of you are referred here for an on call Ophthalmologist don't waste your time coming here.
