I saw Dr Hall for a rash. What i thought might be the problem, it was not. Dr Hall explained my situation what the problem was & explained it to where I understood. I was very pleased & suggest if you need a Dermotologist go to Dr Hall.

My mother had an appointment on March 9, 2026, and left the visit feeling upset after an interaction with a nurse prior to seeing Dr. McConnell. During the initial assessment, the nurse attributed my mother’s hair loss to having “dreadlocks.” I would like to respectfully point out that the appropriate and widely accepted term is locs.
Additionally, this explanation did not reflect an understanding of Black hair care and texture. My mother’s natural hair type is well-suited for locs, and the statement that her hair loss was caused simply by wearing locs felt dismissive and uninformed.
For reference, my mother has very small locs. They are not thick or heavy, and she does not wear them in styles that create tension or strain on her scalp.
We believe it is important for healthcare professionals to approach discussions about hair and potential medical concerns with cultural awareness and accurate terminology. My mother left the appointment feeling misunderstood, and we hope this feedback helps encourage more thoughtful and informed communication in the future.
