The website states that "providers understand the special needs and concerns that adults over the age of 50 may have." I find that this statement to be false. Dr. Mihailescu did not show any empathy towards my 84 year old mother who is blind. My first affiliation with Norvant. This senior care medical facility in South Park Charlotte is an example of implicit bias and racial disparities in healthcare.
After contacting the Health Feedback line, I was contacted by a patient partnership specialist . My review grievance was finalized stating that because Ethel has and continues to receive appropriate care, we are unable to honor your request for fulfillment of FMLA Paperwork.
This appropriate care that Ethel continues or has received cost a substantial amount of money that is paid out of pocket, not paid by healthcare or government program(s) nor assistance.
The FMLA was for me to take care of mother, assisting with basic hygiene, nutrition, safety, transportation, or psychological comfort, eliminating the need for outside help during Covid and Flu season. " When spoke with patient partnership specialist, she stated makes sense to me." But the final review basically says that
my 85 year old blind Mother In Law's care has to be PAID care. Just does not seem right. Sadly, there seems to be some prejudices behind the decision and/or refusal to "honor fulfillment of the Family medical request."

By far the worse experience I have ever had with a doctor's office. Dr. Benson was an amazing physician to my grandmother over the years but the physician that took over for him along with the office staff, with the exception of Jasmine, is incompetent, insensitive and have no idea what good customer service means. Jeanne and Amy especially are useless. It has taken a month of calling every day to get this office to fill out simple forms for my grandmother to get into an assisted living facility. so relieved that my grandmother will no longer be a patient here. Beware.
