Love Dr. Ward and the whole staff. Joyce is a wonderful and friendly ultrasound tech! The nurses are very nice and try to accommodate you the best they can. The lab techs are super nice and always know how to keep you relaxed and calm. Dr. Ward has been our families OBGYN for over 20 plus years he is fantastic.

Don’t waste your time if you’re a new patient. I’ve scheduled online twice now and both times were cancelled. Now I’m off work and I have to find somewhere else to go, smh.

Just had a very nasty encounter with the receptionist who called me with an attitude about my appointment. Told me I had to get an ultrasound I said I would go ahead and cancel because I could not afford that at this time and she kept telling me I needed a new appointment time, I stated I did not want to change as I did not want a male dr. To which she very snappingly replied that I was scheduled with a male dr already, well when I booked with my insurance it very much so was a photo of a women so how that got switched I am not sure. Absolutely zero compassion or concern, trying to make you feel stupid when you’re talking about your own body.
I have been a patient here for 40 years (since it was the private practice Rankin, Glover and White). After waiting an hour on my last visit for a routine checkup the doctor didn’t even do a breast exam and told me the Covid shot was safe for pregnant women! I will not be back.
TLDR:
-(Updated review/edit at the end to explain the change to 3 stars)
-Easy to make an appointment
-Short wait times
-Friendly staff
-Recommend Ingrid Bullard
-Respectful, good bedside manner, well-informed
-Very comprehensive care
I was able to get a last minute appointment here within 24 hours to address my concern. Check in was easy, I appreciated they didn’t turn me away because I arrived maybe 8 minutes late since I accidentally went to the other Novant Health Rankin office so don’t make my same mistake. Didn’t wait long (less than 5 minutes), I can’t remember her name but the nurse who took my vitals was very friendly and made me feel less tense coming in. I had to explain my issue to multiple people but that’s how it usually is at any office. Could not recommend Doctor Ingrid Bullard more! I had a great experience, I felt very respected and like I was being taken seriously. Doctor asked questions to get a better picture of my health and found further concerns and offered me some options to help keep me safe. My initial issue was address and then some. A procedure that I had been worrying and stressing about was quick and only mildly uncomfortable. I feel prepared for my follow up appointment and procedure and I was walked through the whole process. I expressed concerns with pain and anxiety and they were all taken seriously and addressed without treating me like I was ridiculous or drug seeking and I appreciated feeling heard. Doctor also seems to have experience around transgender care or vocabulary and makes an effort to be considerate and respectful and while at times seemed nervous or unsure of what to say, the effort made me feel safe and comfortable (and was more well-informed and correct than any other urgent care provider I’ve visited).
EDIT: (Somewhat descriptive medical things ahead) While this first procedure was great, the following was not. The first procedure was for an IUD. Following this procedure I did not stop having cramping similar to period pains the entire time until I got it removed and bled for 10-14 days. I decided to check my strings like you’re supposed to and I felt the hard plastic of the IUD sticking out of my cervix. YOU ARE ONLY SUPPOSED TO FEEL THE STRINGS. I messaged my doctor in MyChart and received a message back from “Tara-Leigh K” “You are likely feeling the very end of the IUD at the cervix. This is okay. The cramping sounds pretty common of a new IUD. We would be concerned if the pain was sharp, persistent pain.
Thank you,
Tara, RNC” I decided to trust my gut and ignore what she said and make an appointment. After about 2seconds of my doctor looking/checking and from what I had told her she knew she IUD was being expelled and needed to be removed. If I had listened to the message I received on my chart it could’ve lead to dangerous medical issues and I wish they had taken this more seriously. You should not be able to feel your iud and I was experiencing severe cramping and heavy bleeding. I could’ve gotten an infection, something could’ve gone wrong while my body was trying to expel it, or I could’ve gotten pregnant because if it’s not placed correctly it is not longer a reliable form of birth control. Please be careful and trust your gut.
