  Now that it’s been some time Rachel Newsome provided such minimum care and made it her duty to downplay and ignore my symptoms and my pain level after over a month of back and forth doctors visits, not being able to work because I physically couldn’t move , even almost loosing my job because in her opinion my symptoms weren’t serious so she didn’t feel the need to fill out FMLA paperwork . As a African American doctor the fact that she treated me like I was “over exaggerating” and tried to say my menstrual cycle was causing me pain and referred me to an OBGYN needs to be looked into . I knew black women consistently get ignored when we start to have physical problems and it’s always downplayed but never would I have thought as a young women it would happen to me from a black doctor thankfully I changed doctors and after 6 months I found out I needed surgery and now after a year I feel great.

  My second experience here. First was great with Dr. Khalil but she’s on leave so I had to see Heather Detrizio. I’m never going back to her again! Very insensitive! I left her a personal review. My second complaint about my visit today was that the phlebotomist that took my blood work had an ear piece in and was on the phone. Having a full conversation while sticking me! Now if she would’ve caused injury I would’ve sued. I bet Atrium doesn’t have these types of issues! If it wasn’t for my oncologist Dr. Misra whom I love I would leave Novant! Giving two stars just because of Dr. Khalil and the ladies at the front desk and checkout. They’re awesome! Otherwise it would be zero based on Heather and the phlebotomist.

  I've met very few doctors that didn't treated me like a liar (with symptoms, right...) and this location is no different. I saw Dr. Malano and decided it was best that I switched to Atrium to hopefully find a provider that believes me and cares for my well-being. At Novant, I was just a number.
