  I recently had the opportunity to undergo gallbladder surgery with Dr. Carraro and her outstanding assistant, Dr. Black. Words cannot fully convey my gratitude for the exceptional care I received. Nearly two years ago, I also had gastric bypass surgery with this remarkable team, who I believe genuinely saved my life. Dr. Carraro is not just a leading expert in her field; she is an exceptional communicator. She took the time to meticulously explain every detail of the gallbladder surgery, addressing all my concerns and ensuring I felt informed and comfortable throughout the process. Her confidence and expertise were incredibly reassuring. Dr. Black was equally impressive. During our video consultation after my initial meeting with Dr. Carraro, she took the time to explain that due to my altered anatomy, I couldn’t have an endoscopy to retrieve the gallstones, making elective surgery a safer option. She helped me feel confident to move forward with the procedure. My family was initially hesitant about the elective surgery, but her support during both operations was invaluable, helping to ease my nerves with her warm demeanor. Together, Dr. Carraro and Dr. Black form a fantastic team, a dynamic duo deeply committed to patient care and comfort. Although the gallbladder surgery was elective, it was vital for my health, and thanks to their guidance, my recovery has gone smoothly. The gastric bypass surgery I underwent truly transformed my life, preventing major complications for which I am eternally grateful. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Carraro and Dr. Black to anyone in need of surgical care. Their unique combination of skill, empathy, and teamwork truly sets them apart! Additionally, the empowering presence of women in healthcare is an incredible force, and I am proud to have experienced it firsthand.

  I have been under the care of this practice for a few years. I finally decided to get surgery due to the decline in my health. Numerous hospitalizations -one resulting from a prescribed medication. Dr. Ellen Carroro was my assigned doctor that I had never seen for the first time in over 2 years until about 2 months ago. Her initial impression was by far medically insignificant. Her rationale and clinical judgement is at best questionable. I respect medical professionals but I also know when someone is challenged. I tried to rationalize with this doctor, as now I feel as though I fighting for my life. I have since been hospitalized (within 2 months) following this initial and only visit with this doctor. I am writing because I do not want anyone else to encounter what I have. Practicing this way for me or anyone could cause someone to lose their life. I am extremely concerned and feel as though I have been mistreated.

  It is obvious to me that most of the complaints regarding wait times are from patients who are unfamiliar with the process required by their insurance companies. Some people have to wait an entire year before the surgery if not more. For the woman who had a PCP send you for weight loss solutions because you wanted to prepare for your wedding, your frustration should be at your PCP. In my opinion, the seriousness and life altering path of WLS is no place to be because you want to be wedding ready. That is already an indicator of an issue in my opinion. This journey is about your health. It is a process. It requires patience, endurance and persistence. It is not a quick fix, it doesn’t happen overnight. You must do your part and trust the process. It took me a good six months just to have my paperwork submitted for approval and there were staff changes in the midst but I wanted to be healthy so I kept pushing. Here I stand two years out. Maintaining my loss and life change. Start with your mind and the rest follows. Dr. Kolasch is THE BEST!!! His bedside manner is unmatched. He was informative and empowered me with knowledge and the freedom to be honest and ask the real questions that I may not ask in a public forum. He helped me overcome fears with his thorough explanation of what I would experience. I would send my mother to Dr. Kolasch. That is the best endorsement I can give!
