I used the love PB and made it to the 100 club, maybe even 250. Recently, I booked via gympass (aka WellHub) which Pure Barre is a part of. With less than 3 hours notice, I got a text that they do not want gympass bookings and not to come to class. They are clearly a partner with the program, but ok no problem. I said that was totally OK, though I had taken a class a few weeks prior with no issues. I politely let them know they needed to cancel my booking from their end if they did not want to honor the reservation.
After some back and forth, they said they were unable to cancel on their end, which resulted in me contacting gympass customer service (should have been them). 50 minutes of my time now wasted on chat with gympass and a $25 no show fee charged to my account for a class I was asked not to join, as well as a lost booking for the day. It also froze my gympass account for future bookings at all studios, because they failed to cancel my booking after texting me that they didn’t want me to come. Not my fault yet I’m stuck with the problem. I think it would’ve been more appropriate if in the original text, attached, they said they don’t support gympass, BUT until they figure out how to remove themselves from the program they would allow me to take the class. It was their error for having their schedule on a platform they no longer want to be a part of. This is 100% in their control.
Eventually, they did call me to let me know that since they couldn’t cancel the class, I could come by. This should have been the original message, not “we don’t support gympass” with no solution provided. Not to mention I had already rearranged my evening.
The person who I spoke with on the phone was incredibly rude and it was clear she was frustrated with ME somehow, despite it being 100% their fault for being on gympass and vaguely cancelling my class with short notice, no alternative offered and no apology for the disruption in my evening. I even canceled the rest of my weeks PB classes, which did them a favor. This is not the first issue I have had at this location. Years ago the power was out and they did not let any of the patrons know so we all showed up for nothing. Additionally, one time an instructor didn’t show up and again they didn’t let any of the patrons know. For what you’re paying for this class I would expect Customer Service to be top-tier. Until they resolve their schedule on gympass, they need to honor the bookings that they allow. At the time that I am writing this review, they are still showing as a partner to gympass.
I spent a lot of time with Customer Service explaining that this location PB did not want to be a part of the program and escalated as best I can to help them be removed from the app to avoid this happening to other people in the future, which is literally the job of the owner to do, not me. Charlotte has a lot of gym classes with instructors and front desk personnel who are friendly and wouldn’t pull a strange move like this - I advise you go elsewhere.
EDIT: Based on other reviews it appears other people have had this issue - GYMPASS / WELLHUB / CLASSPASS beware. Totally fine if you make the choice not to put your studio on these platforms, but it’s a whole other ball game to be rude to customers, make them responsible for missing a class that you don’t want them at and as the other review noted, the classes aren’t even full to warrant this kind of response.

I was genuinely excited to try this studio, but the treatment I received upon walking in was shocking and unprofessional. I was immediately yelled at by a staff member named Casey (if I recall correctly), who aggressively questioned how I was able to sign up and went on to say she tries to ban Wellhub and ClassPass guests. She continued by openly expressing how much she dislikes both platforms, as well as corporate Pure Barre.
What she may not realize is that platforms like Wellhub and ClassPass often introduce new clients to studios—many of whom join after having a positive first experience. Unfortunately, this was anything but positive. The class wasn’t close to full, yet I was made to feel unwelcome and embarrassed before it even began.
Fitness studios should be inclusive, professional, and welcoming. That was not the environment here. Based on this experience, I would strongly suggest trying one of the many other studios in Charlotte that actually value new clients and treat people with basic respect.
