I told them I didn’t want anything extra and they still added an insurance plan after I specifically Said No I don’t appreciate that.

I had a very frustrating experience with this LensCrafters location involving my college-aged daughter who was visiting Charlotte during spring break. Her contact lens prescription was about to expire and she didn’t have her glasses or backup contacts with her, so I scheduled an appointment here. My instructions to her were simple: get a trial pair of contacts and a copy of the prescription so I could order her contacts through our usual provider. During the visit, the Dr. Mark Phebus advised her that our insurance allowed her to receive a three-month supply of daily disposable contacts at no cost. That immediately sounded questionable to me, so I had my daughter confirm it with our insurance company. The insurance provider informed us that the benefit referenced had already been used, meaning the information given during the appointment was incorrect. When we tried to cancel the order immediately after discovering the issue, the staff refused, stating the order was already in process. This was even after an insurance representative attempted to intervene on our behalf. To make matters worse, my daughter does not wear daily disposable lenses, she normally wears weekly lenses. Because of this experience, we now have to attempt to return the contacts and restore the benefit, and we will be seeking a second opinion from another provider. Patients should be able to trust that the information they are given about insurance benefits is accurate and that mistakes can be corrected. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here. Buyer beware.

Since starting with my current company, I’ve only gone to this LensCrafters location and it never disappoints! From choosing my first set of glasses and sunglasses (with my prescription in them of course), to promptly getting replacement sunglasses, to helping me get them fixed/adjusted at any time. I’ll drive across town to go to this location. They were extremely helpful today, probably my easiest visit to them. My glasses got out of whack due to an altercation with a wall, and they were able to get me settled quickly. Will always recommend!

Long wait times, and poor customer service! Do not come to this location, the one in concord mills is way better. I told a lady that worked there that I couldn't see out of my lenses her answers were very short and very much like she didn't care. My 11 year old son even picked up on how her demeanor was. I then went to get a refund a week later because thats what she recommended, a guy sat me down at a try on glass station and walked off to help someone else. I just got up and left and went straight to the concord mills lenscrafters they are wayyy more friendlier, faster and professional. I was in and out in 5 minutes and plus they had a store full of customers.

Frequently Asked Questions About LensCrafters

How do I know if my child needs glasses?

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?

A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
