  I received a recommendation from an athletic trainer for my daughter who sustained a concussion as a passenger during a minor automobile crash. This was a terrific recommendation!! The whole team was thorough, professional, and caring. In particular, Katy showed an amazing amount of patience, provided demonstrations of exercises, was personable, and made us feel cared for. I felt lucky to get this recommendation and wanted to pass it along.

  We came in with a referral from our pediatrician for a concussion clearance for my son. Our appointment was scheduled for 2:40 PM, yet we waited 45 minutes while multiple patients who arrived after us were seen first. When we asked the front desk about the delay, we were told that because we were new patients and because my son was a concussion patient, we were required to arrive an hour earlier. This explanation made no sense, especially since 2:40 PM was the appointment time we were given. It is counterproductive to have a concussion patient sit for an extended period in a crowded, brightly lit waiting room with very sick patients and constant noise. Patients should be called back at their actual appointment time so testing can begin in a more appropriate, quieter environment. The front desk staff was rude and unable to communicate clearly. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was met with attitude instead of assistance. The office manager was professional and transparent, explaining that the doctor was running behind — something that should have been communicated from the start. Be prepared for long waits, poor communication, and unprofessional behavior at check-in.

  While I like the practice, it is extremely infuriating to have to wait 20, 30, 40 minutes past the appointment time (happens to me on almost every appointment I have). Just like the physicians and staff, patients also have busy schedules and things to get on with. It’s a professional discourtesy to assume patients have all the time in the world to sit waiting way past their appointment times. If you guys are running busy then kindly don’t pack your appointment schedules.

  10/10 service. I highly recommend Dr. Rue. I never had a problem while being a patient here. Unfortunately with the switch to Novant Health I have to switch providers. I am planning on changing insurance next year just to come back.
