  I went in for a “Free” hearing test on 8/29/24 I was told I needed hearing aids. The price was outrageous, over 10k… I ansked if my insurances would cover any of the costs and was quickly told no I explained to the doctor that I’d been out of work on a medical leave for almost 2 years and I apologized that I couldn’t afford those. H doctor starts showing me cheaper pairs but they were still in upwards of almost 10k again I tell them I can’t afford that. The doctor gets up and leaves the room and a woman comes in and she throws another deal at me and says they could in house finance me for a pair that uses batteries s opposed to rechargeables that were so costly. She says she could sell me a pair for $2500. Which was fine with me because it was much cheaper I give them a $50 deposit and was to pay $500 in total and then $55. A month. I thought good I’ll get the hearing aids I need now at a price I can afford but I again asked about insurance helping me and they said no insurance doesn’t help with hearing equipment. I pay the deposit and left, since 8/29 I’ve had another surgery and been down. Someone called me end of September asking about finishing the deposit if $500 I explained I had been down with surgery again, I also said I was gonna have to put a hold on my hearing aids. The office was nice then and said they could refund me no problem. It would go back on my debit card. Again they were nice and I thought pleasant to work with. So now fast forward to today Oct. 29 a full 2 months since I started with Miracle Ear. I stop in the office and show my invoice reciept when I paid my deposit. I tell the girl at the desk, she calls another lady in from another room and she asks what’s wrong and I told her bout my hospital stays and I told her I spoke with my insurance provider and they said if I went to someone in my network that they’d buy my first pair of aids at no out of pocket cost to me. The lady then turned and said I’ll use this $50 as a waiver since you cancelled your order and that by her doing that I wouldn’t have to pay $400 (WHICH WAS NEVER TOLD TO ME ) so honestly now I see their true colors and see that there word means nothing, why tell me you’ll refund me only to not and then come up with a coo out to keep from giving me my deposit back. I’d stay clear of MIRACLE EAR ON 24/27 in Albemarle
