    They practice illegal upcoding here. I've been trying to get this fixed for months and SSM Billing just gives me the run around. These perverse enemies of what is right and good billed me as a new patient, when I've been in the practice for years and had even seen a doctor in the group just a few weeks prior. They considered it a visit requiring moderate medical decision-making, when I just felt crummy from a cold. If that's moderate MDM to this provider, maybe he shouldn't be making medical decisions for anyone's care. They used tests that are more expensive and take longer so they could bill me for a longer visit and charge me more for the tests themselves, even though a more affordable POCT is available and more common. How was I supposed to magically divine that when a provider says the test will be quick, he means it will not be a rapid test but will instead be the longer and less common test so that he can bill me more? I never approved this outlandishly more expensive test that I could have paid $10 for OTC at CVS. These people are wicked. If SSM Billing doesn't correct my bill, I will be wrecking the provider on every site where I can review him, and I will report him and SLUCare Physician Group to the state board, the Missouri Attorney General, the Consumer Financial Protections Bureau, the Office of Inspector General and the FBI's health care fraud unit. I will go scorched earth. They will spend many times more defending themselves than what they thought they were going to recover from me with their illegal billing.

    I have been a patient of dr scheil for around 3-4 years now and at first it was wonderful I got to see her always and she was in charge of my care was kind and patient. Problems have started in the past year it is impossible to get ahold of anyone at the office I have left several voice mails to never get a return. Multiple times they have put me with a different dr without informing me first. Once I was going in for a vaginal exam and they switched me over to a male doctor, which I have told them repeatedly I am not comfortable with. I also talked to that doctor about potential carpal tunnel and he recommended braces. That’s great I’ll get them from cvs for like 30-40 if even. Well this doctor told me it would be so much easier to fill it at the clinic so I don’t have to drive over. I got slapped with a 200 dollar bill for the braces. I was not told a price or anything like that. I’m so far done with this place. I’m never going back once I get new insurance.

    While the doctor here is great, it is completely impossible to get ahold of anyone at the office. We had a prescription emergency where the pharmacy computers kept 'losing' our prescription. We attempted to call to get this rectified and sent to a new pharmacy. Unfortunately, we were routinely unable to get ahold of a single human being, only voice mails for days.
