I went on a Friday night. I figured that I would be there for at least 5 hours. I was outta there in less than 3 hours. Everyone was very efficient and friendly . The hospital was overall clean except the bathroom in the emergency room. That's the only compliment I have. The nurses and Doctors are always very pleasant and professional.
I apprecated that it was easy to check-in, being screened, prompt shot to help me with my pain and being taken to a room. Once in the room, nurse Megan checked my pain condition and explained the options that would be looked at for my pain. She was readily available and checking on my condition through-out my stay as well as bringing me a blanket to keep warm. The doctors were very helpful and explained possible options as well depending on my pain which was starting to stop. Nurse Brittany also checked in with me on my condition and updated me. The check-out went very smooth. I much appreciated the personnel involved with my condition and their ensuring I was being taken out of with my pain.
No stars was not an option. I was seen by an Urgent Care and was told I needed to go to the ER because of the severity, so I called St. Clare ahead of time to let them know what was going on and that I was headed there. I was told that even if I had to wait in the waiting room, there would be a physician to tend to any immediate concerns. That was a lie. I waited in line just to get through “security” (had not been asked my name or what brought me to the ER yet) for 30 minutes waiting to be triaged. Once I finally got to the triage nurse, she acted as if she could not have cared less that I was starting to go into septic shock, and I was sat in the waiting room. I reached my breaking point and left after sitting in the waiting room for over an hour waiting for anyone to start evaluating me, which never happened. I went to Mercy South and they had bloodwork obtained on me and admitted me within 30 minutes.

Nurses were amazing, Nothing but kind and helpful. But the lady at the front desk on tuesday at 2 am. I came in sick. Checked in. As i went to go sit down, i was sitting there for about 30 minutes actively throwing up and i collapsed on the floor. unable to keep myself up or breath much. The lady said “excuse me that’s the most disgusting place in the hospital. get up” (which is true but does she really think i wanted to be on the floor choking??) then said “maybe you shouldn’t of done this to urself so young” because im 17 and pregnant. throwing up everything in my stomach. i said “yeah, sure!”. she was disgusting twards me. and i can only wonder how much she does this considering how comfortable she was making snarky comments.

Giving this place 2 stars because of the nice people up front who took care of me when I arrived at 11:30pm on a sunday njght. After having terrible throat(gutteral) coughing up phlegm multiple times throughout the year for months straight at a time, I had no choice but to go to the ER because it was late at night and urgent care was closed. I had been to urgent care previously and they gave me an inhaler that did not help at all. The ladies at the front desk got me into a room very quickly only because there was no other people waiting. I was hooked up to a blood pressure cuff and an oxygenation finger clip. 15 minutes or so later the brought in a portable xray machine and swabbed me to check for viral infections. Negative on pneumonia, covid, flu, etc. Then I sat there for an hour or so and needed to use the restroom. They came in, unhooked me, when I came back, nobody came in to re-hook me up to the cables. Then finally a young male doctor came in who seemed anxious. He told me that he thinks I have a sinus infection and asked me what I had tried. I was exhausted with no sleep. He made a comment something along the lines of not being necessary to come into the ER for it. Mind you, I couldn't sleep because I was coughing my head off and felt like I was drowning. The last 4 nights were this way and I was exhausted just wanting to sleep. Yes, I tried sleeping sitting up. He told me I looked disappointed and that there was no special pill to make it go away. I wasnt asking for a special pill, I just wanted actual answers as to why this keeps happening to me. He didnt seem interested in helping me further with that because he said hes sorry. The guy out in the waiting room was moaning in pain so he said, "the guy out here keeps yelling and I have to go. I will have them give you a prescription for a nasal spray and antibiotics". He walked out of the room and the girl from the front desk came in minutes later with the prescription and told me the Walgreens across the street was 24 hours. I drove there and it was NOT open. I even drove to a couple other pharmacies but all were obviously not open. I tried to call the hospital to see if they could just get me the meds but the number on Google goes straight to a message, "we're sorry, the number you have dialed is not available". Go figure. Worst hospital ER visit I've ever had. The doctor was not interested in actually listening and helping me. He was trying to run out the door to go see the other guy making moaning sounds. They could have sent another doctor in to actually help but I wasnt interesting enough to receive true care. Hope he was right.
