  I switched Obgyn, because place has the most unprofessional, rude, EVIL staff I have ever crossed paths with. Let me give you a back story, I had just lost my daughter at 6 months pregnant. I came in for my first obgyn appointment since my loss, was newly post partum, still grieving the loss of my daughter and even though I was sad, I greet the DEMON of a “medical assistant” with a smile saying “hi” she was immediately standoffish. She then tells me to get on the scale and tells me my weight from my last visit when I was a 16 year old that at the time had an eating disorder, she told me I gained “too much weight since then” (which was a full DECADE) and continued to call me “fat” and tear down my physical appearance. The kicker? She was atleast 60 pounds heavier than me. I cried because I was so embarrassed, it was the most dehumanizing experience I’ve had in a healthcare setting. I went to the front desk to report her terrible behavior , to where the “manager” of medical assistants told me in a condescending tone that I “needed to calm down” and “stop crying” she had no empathy and barely let me explain why I was so upset. The Dr. saw me and lacked empathy as well. I thought having a Doctor the same race as me would atleast have me get my worries or concerns heard , because as a black woman you never know if people will truly listen to your concerns or worries as a patient, I was wrong. I will never go to DePaul EVER again.

  We came to the OB Care Clinic 4 years ago when we were pregnant with our daughter, and decided that, even though it’s nearly 30 minutes out of our way, we would be coming back for our second pregnancy. To say that we are SO glad that we did, would be an understatement. The clinic itself is small, so you’re always being seen by the same staff which is so nice. The front desk receptionist, Jennifer , is always so kind and sweet to talk to. And then both nurses who help with vitals, Raven and Nicki, are absolutely so sweet and fun. The best part about the clinic is Nurse Practitioner Jessica Meyer. She was so great the entire duration of the pregnancy and very informative. She was always fun and charismatic. We love the OB Care Clinic at DePaul!
