I tried to enroll my son in their after school program. They stated that they would need extra support and would hire someone. Months later I check in they say they’re working on it. More months pass and I see they refunded my account. No communication, no “sorry we can’t accommodate you”. Very disheartening. I expected more from them especially since they pride themselves on inclusion. I would’ve been fine if they’d just said they couldn’t do it from the beginning.

Main Issues: Sauna temp is too low. Gym closes ridiculously early at 4pm on Saturday and Sunday and 9pm during the week. Other locations are 10pm weekdays and 6pm weekends. First, the Sauna. They set it to 170 and that's too low. THE LOWER TEMPERATURE BREEDS GERMS. Also, they don't factor in that the door opening to enter/exit will drop the temp, so it's usually closer to 150. It takes 30 minutes to start sweating. If you do eventually sweat, it takes 30+ minutes for that sweat to dry off of the bench and floor, WHICH IS DISGUSTING AND A KEY REASON THAT THE TEMP IS SUPPOSED TO BE 185/190!!!!! The heat keeps the room dry. People are constantly pouring water on the machine, trying desperately to make the room hotter. They keep it low because a very small number of people complain that it's too hot for them. People that don't even use the sauna regularly. ********Could you imagine stepping into a lukewarm hot tub, because someone tells the staff it's too hot? it would be asinine to lower the temp of the hot tub because someone wants it a little warm and not actually hot.*************Or draining the pool to 8 feet because someone says the 12 feet deep end is too deep?*********** The management has failed miserably here. Common sense would tell you to listen to the 3 or 4 DOZEN members that literally use the Sauna DAILY, and not the 2 or 3 individuals that use it once a month and say their hot. When someone says it's too hot, you tell them to shorten their time or try the steam room. Secondly, the gym closes way too early. 4pm Saturday/Sunday is absolutely ridiculous. Covid lockdown is long over. It's the YMCA so I get it. You don't go to the Y to train to go pro, but at least get on par with other locations with a minimum close of 6pm on weekends. How can you claim to care about the health of your members, and close your doors mid-day when most people are actually off of work? Do not join this gym. Without adequate amenities, it's just a daycare with weights. Childcare is great but if you're going to underserve the people that are actually coming for real workouts, it needs to be known before signing up. It's worth traveling to other locations for a better experience. There's a real estate developer putting up a large complex in Brentwood and they're planning to build a competing gym, because this YMCA keeps underserving their members. Unfortunately I have to fully support it. Members shouldn't have to fight tooth and nail for common sense decisions to take place.

Very small gym. Gets crowded. Could use some equipment upgrades. But appreciative it’s here!

I would leave negative if I could. My friend and I go there all the time. The first few months were fine but I got told today the membership I had wasn't "Right" and that the person that did it wasn't "correct in how they put it in, we can't do that" and we called before I came up there and asked about it and purchased the membership so now instead of $50 it'll $75 which is a big jump. But also today my friend that I go with regularly left his hoodie in plain sight on a bench on acadent. He remembered half way home I live closest so I turned around to go get it. It was maybe 30/45 minutes after it was left I asked if anyone had turned it in and if no did they see someone take it or could they check cameras. It's not a cheap hoodie he workes in industrial areas so it's a work hoodie that's meant to with stand a lot. They looked for maybe a few moments and said it wasn't turned in. And that's it. They didn't say they could check cameras or anything they just shuffled stuff and said done with it. Which was very disappointing and frustrating as it was in plain view. So should be easy to check a camera or something to see what happened.
