Had an “intake” on Friday. In about 10 short min. Julie threatened to call 911. I was exasperated and anxious. Dealing with a lost phone, a new cancer diagnosis, disabled, orthopedic injuries, a car whose engine has blown. Lost last agency about one month ago, due to “financial exploitation” by the homemaker.
She demanded that a “deep clean” be done!
Very arrogant and entitled and a contributor to dysregulation. I am unable to navigate a “deep clean” but all areas that I need help with are accessible. My mental health caseworker knows all too well that a “deep clean” is not only traumatic, but, not reasonable when the root cause of clutter is not addressed, instead forcing poor people to discard goods of value. AND that some people aren’t able to l physically and mentally assist with a “deep clean.” Her arrogance kept her from getting the picture. Last two agencies had no issues helping. These people think they can come in a “shake up” things with little regard to the struggle the disabled deal with when left without services! AND, my mental health caseworker knows all too well that a “deep clean” is not only traumatic for poor people discarding items of value. And doesn’t deal with the root cause of clutter. I am left to do it on my own now. It took a month to find an agency 10 minutes to destroy trust. And now another month at least to get help. Cancer surgery looming. Julie left and snuggly said “good luck.” I’m trans too, perhaps not their cup of tea. I was a RN for 30 yrs. The people that run agencies like us really are not about the client! Sad the state of healthcare! Julie needs to know it’s my home, and she’s a guest. Not welcome in my home after her charade. And I am better off for it! Who would want an attitude of entitlement in caregiving and “I know better than you.” Really glad she’s out the door! In the future things will be discussed before entry or even finding an agency.
Update-
4/19-Friday(one week after, Julie intake), disabled pre op. Orthopedic injuries from fall need CASdI waiver services now due to financial exploitation by last company. Had visit from CADI caseworker, said, “TJ’s isn’t bad, every ask area is accessible. And had been frustrated asking other case managers if ever they had a demand by a company like Apex for a deep clean. None had heard of it. Services refused to this 66yo transman who had services up to 1 mo ago. But, for exploitation!beware opportunists and possible discrimination abound in this jungle of CADI waiver providers! Leaving the disabled stranded! Apex is one in my experience!!
