I’ve taken a handful of classes at CorePower during my free week and have consistently had positive experiences. Unfortunately, my recent hot yoga class with Sarah S did not meet those expectations. Her tone felt sharp at times, and some of the instruction did not come across as supportive or encouraging. For example, cues were repeated in a way that felt more like ridicule than guidance, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere. Yoga is usually a relaxing yet challenging and motivating practice for me, and this class did not reflect those positive qualities. Because of this experience, I won’t be taking another class with this instructor. I don’t often write reviews, but this experience stood out enough that I felt it was worth sharing. To be clear, I don’t mind being challenged physically, and I understand this is a more demanding class. My concern was not the difficulty, but the way the instruction was delivered, which took away from the overall experience. Just not my preferred style!

First off: I love the instructors at the studio, so this review has nothing to do with the quality of the classes or teaching. I’m adding this review of only two stars because for the past week, the studio showers have no warm water. I was told last Monday and today that the showers would be fixed and as someone who has to commute after class directly to work and knows students who are in the same position, this is unacceptable, especially as the weather becomes extremely cold. I was dismayed when I came in today exactly one week later only to find that the showers were not repaired. All we got a students was a simple we’re sorry, but our water doesn’t work…. Coming out of a heated yoga class to a shower with no warm water is hazardous to your health and can potentially cause medical issues due to the extreme changes in temperature. As someone who has to commute I had no choice and the matter and had to shower all the same. While one occurrence of this being an issue is one thing, having it happen twice in one week is honestly just unprofessional. I say this is somebody who’s been going to Core Power Yoga since 2023. To boot, the facility is still not on par with the others that I’ve been to (Woodbury, or grand Avenue). I can never recall a time even in the most extreme cold temperatures that either of these other studios I’ve been to has ever had a heated water issue. The fact that it’s been a week and this continues to occur tells me that there could be something wrong with the water tank and that the studio never got it fixed. This is disappointing as once again I am emphasizing the instructors are excellent and the class offerings are good. Overall, I think the studio just needs a little more care, especially when it comes to things like having to run heated running water. I’m a member who’s been paying full price for the all access membership and have been very satisfied with my overall Core Power Yoga experience but this studio appears to be an outlier in that regard…

Great classes! Great location! Downside is the hottest locker room I have ever been in. I understand it’s summer but I like to shower after class and I still leave as sweaty as before I showered. Feels like for $150+ with no towels offered we could atleast expect the locker room to be usable.
