I had a bit of a mixed experience at this Target Optical. On the positive side, Kristine and Jessica were absolutely wonderful! They were friendly, easy to talk to, and Kristine was incredibly helpful in picking out frames that match my style and preferences.
However, the clinical portion was less impressive. Dr. Mehta was strictly business. While she performed the exam efficiently, I didn't feel any 'Minnesota Nice'. I received very little explanation regarding my tests, why my astigmatism increased, or how to better care for my eyes. And I would have appreciated more guidance on which lenses would be best for my specific type of work and lifestyle—something I’ve typically received from other optometrists back in Asia.
At the end of the day, she did her job, but the lack of personalized care and patient education was a letdown compared to the stellar service from the optical staff. Aaand to top it off, I was told it would take 3 weeks to get my glasses, which is much longer than the industry standard of 1-week average.

Had to wait 25-30 minutes beyond scheduled appointment time to be seen. After that, it was fine.

Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What is involved in an eye exam?
An eye exam involves a series of simple but comprehensive tests that allow your optometrist to assess your vision and your eye health. Your optometrist will discuss the results of your eye exam with you and determine the right prescription to help you to see your best.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
