  The staff at Home Instead was amazing, kind and very helpful when we brought my dad home with hospice. Victoria worked hard to help get all our requested time slots filled consistently to help my mom with the care for my dad. All out caregivers were the kindest and most helpful people. They became part of the family in the short month we had them. Would highly recommend Home Instead.

  I wanted to share a recent experience we had with Home Instead of Shelby Township, MI, and their team that worked with us over the last month. A short background on how and why we found Home Instead of Shelby Township. About 5 years ago, my Aunt Sharon had a serious stroke and lost a lot of her functionality on her left side. At that time, we made her a promise, that she would never spend a day in a nursing home if it was within our ability to keep that from happening. Immediately after, my wife Rachel moved in with her to provide daily care for the last 5 years, and about 18 months ago, I joined them. We didn't think or know at that time that we would have a short time left with this amazing person we so dearly loved. Earlier this year, she was diagnosed with cancer, and after months and months of treatment, her kidneys began to fail, and she made the difficult decision to enter hospice. At that time, my wife Rachel called every number given to her by the hospital for 24/7 care, and none of them could help us provide the level of care that she needed and deserved. That's when my wife found Bernadette and Victoria at Home Instead of Shelby Township, MI. They immediately picked up on our first call to them, and told us about their caregivers, and how they could easily provide Aunt Sharon with 24/7 in home care. We signed their contract which was very straight forward, and within 24 hours, we were able to bring Sharon home to begin Hospice care...thus allowing us to fulfill the promise we made to her 5 years earlier that she could be home during the last days of her life. When the Home Instead Caretakers came to our home, they were punctual, respectful, and when we made them aware of our in home security cameras, they responded with "You could have a camera in every room, we don't care." That reassured us, and gave us a peace that was amazing, and allowed us to have an unlocked open front door during the two weeks that they provided 24/7 care for Aunt Sharon. During the process we met so many amazing caregivers from Home Instead of Shelby Township. Ladies like Gladys, Helen, Sharon, Theresa, Georgia, Jennifer, Jonee, and the owner Victoria, and so many others that treated Aunt Sharon like she was a family member of their own family and gave us peace that we didn't expect during this difficult time. We used Home Again of Shelby Township 24/7 for two straight weeks, and not a single time did we have to make them aware of anything negative, or any issues from anyone on their staff. They treated Aunt Sharon with the utmost dignity and respect, and we truly can't thank them enough for the service that they provided during one of the most difficult times in our life. My wife Rachel and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone that has a family member coming home for hospice, or a family member that requires additional help to still maintain their personal freedom at home. They not only cared for Aunt Sharon like she was their own, but during times that she was resting, or asleep, they offered and did household chores like wash, and dishes, and cleaning. In closing, this company was amazing to use, and if I could give them more than 5 stars I would. Home Instead of Shelby Township is an amazing company, and we highly recommend, and thank them for the service and support they provided us during this difficult time. We lost Aunt Sharon on Sunday November 2, 2025, but we take comfort in knowing that we were able to fulfill a promise we made to bring her home for hospice care, and Home Instead Shelby Township was the main reason we could accomplish that.   Home Instead has been a tremendous support for our family since they began providing care for my father in late August 2025. Every staff member we’ve worked with has been professional, compassionate, and truly attentive to his needs. As my father has required more assistance over time, the team has been incredibly responsive and flexible, helping us adjust his care to ensure he remains safe and comfortable. We are very grateful for their dedication and the peace of mind they provide. Highly recommend.

  Home Instead is providing in-home care for my parents and I couldn't be more grateful for the support they provide. The caregivers are compassionate, professional and genuinely attentive to my parents' needs, which gives our family piece of mind. The office staff is equally outstanding. Their communication is prompt, clear and helpful. Any time a schedule change is needed - on our side or theirs - they handle it smoothly and professionally. It's clear that the Office Manager makes client satisfaction a top priority and always ensures our family feels supported. I recommend this company to anyone seeking dependable, compassionate and well-coordinated in-home care.
