Very poor care and professionalism. I was a patient of Dr. Mallhi until this past June. When my new doctor asked for my file and records, she received forms that were almost entirely blank. He had been writing only our date of meeting and the medication dosage changes; no symptoms, concerns, or other notes were taken down.
To make matters worse, when I wanted to go down on one of the medications (and I expressed concern about wanting to have a baby in a couple of years and therefore getting off of this medicine to have a healthy non-addicted baby) he proposed two options for me: have a happy, healthy (for me) pregnancy and ween the baby-to-be, or "fetus" as he called, off of the medicine in a NICU, or have a depressed pregnancy. The fact that a doctor actually suggested to me that I consider my health versus that of "the fetus" was sickening to me. Could there not have been an alternative that would have helped us both?
When I did eventually go completely off the medication, it was very difficult. Since I was advised to cut my dose in half and then after a week stop taking completely, I had extremely averse and intense side effects. I lost five pounds in one week, slept 2 hours a night, and suffered serious withdrawal. I went to my new doctor about it, who then told me that this 1-2 week process I went through should have been a 2 or more MONTH process. Since this meant I'd no longer be going to Mallhi for medicine, he seemed to be entirely indifferent to my health. No money equated to no cares for the patient.
Mallhi is curt, cold, and seems to want money and job security over the health of his patients. He made changing doctors difficult for my new one, and does not have health as his goal for his patients. I am very thankful that my PCP now manages any medicine I take. I should have gotten out of Mallhi's practice long before I did. I wish I could give zero stars.
