Care is great here. The Dr's are kind and great with kids. The issue is with Wendy. The patient care coordinator. She said I need to purchase things that are covered under my insurance. According to her, ALL meds that you can purchase OTC are NOT covered by insurance. I kindly tried to explain to her that the statement she made was untrue but she kept cutting me off huffing and puffing. I then asked for her name and she refused on multiple requests to provide her name. I'm so glad all calls are recorded because the way she spoke to me and became irate because I asked her not to keep calling me "sweetie" and to allow me to speak after I've allowed her to speak was intense. She then hung up on me and said she refuses to argue with me for reasons stated above. She took me asking about the prescriptions that were supposed to be sent to the pharmacy yesterday as some kind of challenge to her authority. She refused to answer the phone and lied and said she didn't hang up even though it was immediately following her saying she refuses to argue. I told her there isn't an argument (because what is there to argue over). She's just supposed to find out what happened to the prescription. This whole exchange was weird and I did blow up on her at the end. I didn't call her names but i did hope she had a terrible day. Her care isn't the patients, it's her authority and word she cares for. Again, very grateful the calls are recorded because I'm sure she was going to play the "aggressive black woman" argument vs her being condescending, rude, combative, and selfish. She also stated she doesn't work with anyone and she's the only one there (another false statement because i spoke to someone twice before her because that person was with a patient. Regardless, the care from everyone else was phenomenal and I don't want them to be discredited because of one very sour apple in the bunch. I justed wanted to know if someone could find the prescription that was supposed to be written for my baby who's been sick for 8 days straight AND has breathing issues. THATS ALL. I'm deeply saddened by this encounter, but it's not unexpected. The medical field isn't too keen on people that look like me anyway, and I will always advocate for myself, loved ones, and those who can't do it on their own.
