This location is literally the worst. At the beginning of the year I was seen for an eye exam and ordered new glasses. The guy who helped with the glasses order put the wrong prescription in my glasses - that wasn’t even my prescription - it was my husband’s. Furthermore, he put a prescription from 2022 into my husband’s glasses order. After waiting another 10 days when my glasses were reordered, they were incorrect and missing a piece in the glasses. Shocker, I was told the same employee who messed up the order had assembled my new glasses lenses.
Fast forward to today (5/6/26) and another less than stellar experience. We walked in to ask a simple question about ordering lenses for some non-prescription Meta glasses we had purchased, but stood by the front counter for over 20-30 minutes and were never even acknowledged. There is either a serious staffing issue here or the employees have no multitasking skills to even acknowledge others that come in while helping. Literally, the one girl walked right past us several times without a word.
I will definitely talk to corporate about these ongoing challenges and discontinue shopping with LensCrafters as a result. I have an online order coming in that is supposed to be delivered soon and that will be the last one. Also, don’t even bother calling - they never answer and then receive a message that your call will be returned based on the number calling from - yet it is not returned timely (sometimes upward of three days I waited).

Very friendly and helpful staff. Very reasonable and probably the best priced basic eye exam out there, only $69 at the time of this review. They also tend to have very good deals in store and online. However, I happened to find better coupons to use on their website after trying on pairs in store and purchased online.

Dustin did a great job and was able to answer all my questions. Made the whole process super easy and called me as soon as the glasses came in which was earlier than expected.

I walked in planning in just getting an estimate. Due to some major changes in my prescription I had questions. Dustin was thorough and answered everything easily. I walked out in less than 30 minutes with my glasses ordered.

I've only had my glasses for a few weeks and there are already scratches on both lenses, when they supposedly have a scratch resistant coating. When I called to ask if they had any sort of lense replacement plan included, I was told it's something I would have had to add when I purchased the glasses. The person I worked with never even mentioned this was an option when purchasing the lenses. I was then told a manager could approve adding it after the fact, but it would cost another $35 and then I would have to pay $25 to order the new lenses. I paid over $300 for just lenses at this location! I went to the LensCrafters in Traverse City last year and the glasses I purchased at the Woodland location were nearly $100 more for the exact same lenses with a new prescription and I didn't purchase frames this time. The fact that this protection plan was not included in the already astronomical price of the glasses is insane to me.
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
