  Can’t say enough good about Pure Barre Detroit. The most electric, welcoming, and empowering group of women in the city. It’s clear that, from the top down, this is a place full of people who care about creating a positive workout experience and cultivating space for all Detroiters. As a man, I always feel welcomed in and I will for sure be back as often as I can. This instructor is a particular favorite of mine as well! Great energy!

  Disappointed with the Pure Barre Detroit studio due to inconsistent policy enforcement and a troubling interaction with ownership. The class description clearly states that “late entry is not permitted.” However, for a 5:45 AM class, I arrived at 5:44 AM and 5:45 AM on separate occasions, only to find the door already locked both times. Locking the door at or before the scheduled start time contradicts the stated policy and should be communicated with clarity to avoid confusion. When I reached out to the owner for clarification, the response was dismissive and framed around “safety” concerns tied to the studio’s Downtown Detroit location. This rationale felt misplaced and, at worst, suggestive of a bias in how clients are treated. If safety is genuinely a concern, there are far more professional, customer-centered solutions—such as clearly communicating expectations, offering a brief grace period, or providing security—rather than penalizing clients who arrive on time. Due to the lack of clarity and the way this situation was handled, I will not be returning to this location and cannot recommend it. I have, however, attended the Grosse Pointe location and found the staff there to be far more accommodating. In today’s competitive fitness industry, customer satisfaction and a positive client experience are paramount. Businesses that fail to prioritize these elements risk undermining their own long-term success. A more thoughtful, client-focused approach would greatly benefit this studio and the community it serves.
