I ordered a set of 2.5x loupes February 20th of this year. I was quoted 45 days for delivery, which seemed like a long time, but thought would be worth the wait. I called March 18th to let them know I would appreciate having them by the first week of April, due to cases being scheduled. Customer support let me know that it would not be an issue, and that the loupes would be sent out on March 27th at the latest. She said I would get an email when the item was shipped. On the 31st, I called because I did not get an email about the shipping, but it went to voicemail. On April 1st, I get an email saying that the loupes failed inspection, but had been “moved to the front of the line”. Confused, I called and mentioned how serious it was to have them by the end of the week, as I mentioned back on March 18th. Come to find out, the customer support agent never noted the date on the account. Obviously I was frustrated, so she transferred me to Hannah (if you read other negative reviews you will see her name appear often). Hannah offered to send me a loaner pair of loupes (I have a strong prescription and was not comfortable with this, for obvious reasons). She said there’s nothing else she could do, but could get me a response by the next day as to what we could do. Thursday, April 2nd, I called them at 12:45pm, as I had no updates. Hannah calls me that exact moment, tells me that the best they can do is have them overnight shipped Friday afternoon, because they still weren’t ready. She offered a small discount, which seemed like the bare minimum, considering the repeated failures in communication. It is now Saturday, April 4th, and I still have no loupes.
Here’s my honest professional opinion, based on my experience and the experience of others: Surgitel has horrific, shameful, absolutely embarrassing customer service. Hannah is not solving the problems customers are facing. They are losing thousands of dollars in business everyday because executive leadership at Surgitel refuses to address the delays, lack of communication, and horrible customer service.
I intend to cancel my order, go with another company, and never purchase another product from Surgitel again. For $2,000 for a basic set of loupes, with failed quality inspections, extended delays, false promises, and poor customer service, the executive leadership at Surgitel should be ashamed of themselves.

I have a pair of the General Scientific Corp, model EVX250 magnifying loupes with LED light. This is a review of a box opening on my own. I have never seen such HORRIBLE nondescript directions for not only putting these glasses together with the LED light but instructions on how to actually use them properly as well. NOTHING!! Absolutely NOTHING on your website explaining what the extra parts are for!!! For example, the 3 extra plugs… is one supposed to just guess they're extra? Oh right they’re there in case I decide to travel to CHINA with these loupes and light. So I can charge the battery there!! RIDICULOUS!!! Why do I even need them. 2 hours wasted trying to find something on your website explaining what they are for!!!!! NOTHING!! 🙄 The Allen wrench?? Where exactly am I supposed to use that? I’ve checked every hole and orifice it could possibly fit in. Once again, searched your useless website, and not a single thing comes up about that “hex key”. What exactly is it for?!?!? Certainly not to lock the settings!!! The spiral cable ties and their different sizes. Where exactly do those get used? Oh right, to attach the cable to the eye glasses. I used the larger one. Where exactly do the smaller ones and the extra large one come into play? Am I supposed to just guess on that too? Oh I know, maybe if I travel to China they’ll come in handy there!!! 🙄 So now that I’ve wasted a total of 3 hours trying to figure these loupes out on my own, I’ve come to the conclusion, there’s absolutely NO WAY these can be permanently set for my eyes!!! Nope!! You gotta try and mess with the settings every single time you take them off and put them back on again!! WHAT A HUGE WASTE OF TIME!!! These glasses should come with a FUNCTIONAL “ALLEN WRENCH” that actually works in all the hinges to set them permanently for my eyes!! Not some useless Allen wrench that fits NOTHING!!! $1,500 for these glasses and no way to set them??? GARBAGE!! That has got to be THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT aspect of any set of loupes and yours have no set key!!!
If you are considering these loupes, and reading this review, THINK seriously AGAIN at a different brand!!!
Oh I almost forgot, 3.5 hours later and the battery for the light is still charging. Do I guess about that too as to whether it’s charged “fully” by now?!? A battery that takes over 3.5 hours to charge? Are you kidding me?!?! What exactly does one do while they’re working? Reschedule patients until the battery is charged enough to use?!? Once again, GARBAGE!!!!
