Used to be a great facility. New CEO is the same one who tanked and closed the Dover YMCA. Scott Wilcox has now just shut down a very competitive gymnastics program with no input from the community, taking chances away from girls all over the community. Downright shameful.

My major complaint with the YMCA at this location is the complete lack of organization in the child care Department. Specifically the Summer Day Camp program and after school care. There is minimal comunication with parents reguarding field trips and sleepovers. I dropped my kids off today, to find out they are going to a Portland Sea Dogs Game and wouldn't be home till 7pm. And they needed money for lunch and dinner. No letters, emails, fliers nothing was sent home ahead of time. I then had to run to the ATM up the road to get money for them, making for a rushed morning. There have also been "sleepovers" for the teen center off and on all summer. Often not ever giving people notice until the morning of, with no chaperone count or where they're taking the kids camping. Granted, these activities are optional. And nobody is forcing me to send my children to the ymca, but due to the extreme lack of childcare in my area I feel this is my only option right now. For the record, the Child Care staff seem to be okay and friendly enough for the most part, even if nobody ever seems to know what's going on and look at you blankly when you ask a question. And it would be helpful if the childcare staff introduced themselves or wore name tags. The program as a whole needs an overhaul or at least some structure. Even a month to month schedule of activities/field trips to help families plan ahead would be better. I have called the Y at the beginning of the summer, only to have my name and complaint taken down, with no follow up from anyone. This is not a new issue and has been going on the past couple of summers.

Great facility, clean, easy to access, workers are polite and helpful. my only complaint is some of the prices are steep. For example, to swim in the pool for 10 minutes or 5 hours its $5 which isnt super accessible for some people financially. I wish that would be recalculated. Otherwise, great establishment with super convient location. My family loves it
