I had a interesting experience. I had the Meta Ray-Bans Gen 1s and the battery became abysmal. Meta agreed it was covered under warranty and they sent me the letter to go to LensCrafters for a replacement for a "comparable" replacement. I went to LensCrafters in Waldorf with that letter and requested the Gen 2s as the battery has been improved and that they are "comparable", but per LensCrafters recent regional manager meeting they were informed not to replace Gen 1s with Gen 2s. I contacted Meta Ray-Ban and talked to a supervisor explained what had happened and asked about replacing Gen 1s with Gen 2s and they said I could with that letter. I explained to the manager what Meta Ray-Ban supervisor told me and what would most likely happen if I got Gen 1s as replacements, "If I get the Gen 1s, the battery would most likely fail again then I would be back around the same time next year for a replacements but then it'd be Gen 2s and Gen 3s by that point, so I'd be getting Gens 2 or 3 as replacements." She listen, understood my point of view and agreed that make sense so she (the manager) had to contact her boss to do a replacement and it was approved. They could've easily said "NO! We are following policy", and left it at that. But she listened, understood and worked with me on this issue. Thank you for being customer friendly, listening and understanding my point of view. I Highly Recommend this LensCrafters for being customer friendly! -Curt

Frequently Asked Questions About LensCrafters

How do I know if my child needs glasses?

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?

A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
