  I have been going to this provider since I was like 16 and always loved the service I was given, until recently. I started having stomach pains in September and was told it was “woman” pains and if it didn’t subside after a month to come back. Anyways, a month goes by and the pains are still there. I proceed to make another appt and go back, to which the provider ordered an abdominal ultrasound because she thought it might be my gallbladder. All came back normal, but the pains were still there. These pains started in September, and I was still following up in November after my ultrasound with pain and no understanding why. Basically, the provider told me that it was mental health related and there was nothing more she could do for me. This really upset me as I always felt I could trust her and her choices for me. After this, I went to urgent care for a separate matter in January, and told them about the stomach pains I had been having while there. They could not believe I was never referred to a GI Dr, and they ended up referring me to one, who I got to see in February. From then, the GI Dr ordered 2 tests, one being a HIDA scan for gallbladder (because even with a clear ultrasound, you need a HIDA scan to figure out the actual functionality of it) as that is where my pain was located along with the symptoms I had been having. Well, needless to say, after 6 months of hell and feeling crazy, the HIDA scan came back showing there is an issue with my gallbladder and it needs to come out. I had to advocate and take other routes to get to this point though, which is extremely frustrating. Some advise- not everything is mental health related and it shouldn’t be so hard for patients to receive the proper care.

  My family and I have been going to Dr. Talbot Smith for about 15 years. He has always been there for us. He is extremely intelligent in the medical field. He has helped us in times when other medical professionals couldn't. We followed his practice from Gettysburg to Thurmont. We would recommend him to anyone.

  Just came in here after having such severe panic attacks and living in constant flight or fight and having no life quality not being able to sleep or eat because i was scared anything i would have one or those episodes and have a heart attack. had to be hospitalized twice with a 200 and 180 heartrate. They got me in the same day with Dr smith and he was just phenomenal he treated me amazing and he actually listened to me and had genuine compassion for me and what i have been going through as of recent and nowadays you will never come across a doctor who genuinely wants to try every solution to help you out. I reccromend Dr smith to anyone with PTSD , severe panic episodes or any mental health issues , i know thats not his main line of practice but he knows what he is doing and what he is talking about and actually sat and talked with me for a little bit. if i could give this place 10 stars i would. and im very happy to have Dr smith as my new primary care doctor.
