I don't think I have ever had such a warm and helpful experience at a pharmacy. I was having trouble getting my GoodRx card approved for one of my prescriptions at another pharmacy and they were so quick and helpful in transferring over my medication to their pharmacy. Everyone was so kind and helpful/ knowledgable, professional and courteous. I did not have to wait long and they had what looked like a proper staff vs how it is at other big chain pharmacies and I really appreciated that.
*A note to people who visit pharmacies: Please be patient and wait your turn even if it is just to ask a question. Don't interrupt a conversation that pertains to someone's well being and give the staff some space. We're all in this together, so lets be kind and considerate.

Karen in the pharmacy is great! She was thorough, helpful, friendly. Just amazing, memorable experience. Also, the Starbucks manager, I forget her name, joy? She was very friendly. I loved that both people were patient with me (using good rx @ pharmacy is a pain)and listened to/answered my questions.
Kim , I'm guessing the front end supervisor should be coached on customer service standards. There was a pricing mistake on Safeway's end and she refused to honor the price. I left with a different product, due to her inability to make a customer advocate decision, which I'm not even sure was the correct item for the price.....

Generally great and friendly staff but they seem to always be out of stock on whatever you need. They promise “the order is out and it’ll be in tomorrow” but it usually takes a few days until they suggest you go somewhere else.
They have a new employee, maybe a pharmacist, named Stephanie, who might be the rudest huffiest person I’ve dealt with in years. She is frazzled whether there is or isn’t a line. This morning there was no line and she was just rushing me through. Couldn’t answer questions because “as you can see I’m the only one here!” ... that was at 9am...they open at 9am and no one was behind me.
I’d give them One star but I cant do that to the other employees. Either way, after 8 or so years - I’m done and won’t be going back.

TL:DR - Drive down the street to CVS or Harris Teeter if you don't want to stand and wait forever just after an outpatient procedure.
Today was a big day, after a few kids I finally had a vasectomy. Not exactly a great experience, but not that bad if you are considering one. Post big V the doctor called in my prescription for some painkillers at Safeway since we live really close.
I drive back from the docs, the drive is a hair under 40 min so you would presume the meds would be ready, or at least hope. At Safeway I waddle through the store looking like an injured penguin/man who had private jewels operated on. Upon getting to the pharmacy I hand them the perscription and they let me know the order was put in by the doc a while ago. Great, I can have my pillls. Except they did not fill it, apparently because they had to check my insurance. Not this seems a bit ridiculous because the regular price of all 15 pills was $16.95 and if they were worried about waste it is really not that big of a deal. However there is an opiate crisis going on so maybe that is it. After giving them my card, and informing that I really would like those pills since i just had a procedure and the anesthesia is wearing off, they say 15 min. Fine, whatever, I adjust my ice pack in my pants and waddle over to the Starbucks in the store. Get a delicious chocolate croissant (which despite wife enforced diet i deserve), iced tea and waddle back.
At this time my nether area is really starting to act up. It is not comfortable, my ice pack is luke warm and that prescription could really come in handy. It has been 20 min. After waiting in line behind a very inquisitive elderly lady I finally approach in glee of getting some sweet painkillers. Guess what, they are not ready but will be in a few min. Now I waddle back over to Starbucks, and sit for another 10 minutes and eat another croissant. Waddle back. This time there are four people in line. The same exact amount working behind the counter. This four person line takes approximately 16.5 minutes (at this point I was very aware of the passage of time) and as I again get to the counter very excitedly they inform me the pills are again not ready but will be. This was close to true as in another three minutes I finally got them.
Now I understand that there are probably magical pharmacist things going on and lots of other people use the pharmacy. I'm sure there are laws, other peoples orders and Facebook to check. But this is Friday morning with few people in the store. I was standing right there and both the paper prescription and I informed the very polite lady behind the counter about the very recent nature of my medical intervention of a sensitive area. Just a tiny sliver of compassion and bumping up the filling of the prescription would absolutely have helped, if anything to finally let me sit down since standing is something the doctor said specifically to avoid. The person attending was very polite though.
