- DEDian EricaFeb 23, 20265.0While this is not the only place to obtain a wheelchair, the experience here has been absolutely amazing! From the first interaction with the sales representative the service with National Seating & Mobility has been exceptional!!! At the rehab center the sales representative patiently and expertly explained to my son what to do and how to operate the electric wheelchair and worked with him to select the details for his customized wheelchair - including getting it in his favorite color! š When we needed to have the loaner chair adjusted, we simply called and NS&M sent Shelton to our aide. Shelton is amazing! Patient, courteous, knowledgeable, professional and simply the best!! He also came to set up my son's chair when it was ready and picked up the loaner chair at the same time. This is my first experience navigating the world of the physically challenged and working with NS&M has made this part of the journey sooooo easy, sooo stress free!! They also accept Medicaid!!! I HIGHLY recommend NS&M for your needs! You will not regret it!!!!
- RSRick SlaughterAug 27, 20251.0I called and told NSM I was paying cash for casters and bolts for my chair. Simple huh? Not at all. They ordered the casters, but not the bolts. Then they said call back, ask for remote, and they can order the bolts. I called, left my number, and they NEVER CALLED ME BACK. What theHELL is wrong with this company? They do not listen, and don't know the meaning of customer service. I used to be in this line of work....how hard it is to call wc customer service, give them my serial number, and order the parts??? SERIOUSLY??? Come on guys.....u know this is not right

Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because itās not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to āgrow with the childā
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
